I have far too many shoes and ran out of space to keep them. I didn’t realize how expensive shoe cabinets are until I started looking. This was within the budget I gave myself so I figured why not. It was very easy to assemble (I did screw up at one point and miss a piece but it was easy to go back and fix.) I was worried about stability but it seems to be very stable. The whole thing is plastic, so if you’re looking for something fancy this isn’t it. But it’s perfect for a cost effective solution. I’m very happy with it and am buying another. We where looking for something that would look good and sturdy. We decided to do one 2x1 single unit for the entryway and use the rest for the closet. Of course the closet one is incomplete because it's 9 small panels in total and just the single unit we decided to do needs 4, so keep that in mind if you want to do single units. Shipping was fast. Its super easy to put together. Cant figure out what the zip ties are for. I did read its for sturdiness, but have no clue how they would be applied. None of the assembly videos show them being used. I also couldnt get the hooks on, but i dont intend to use them so i didnt try too hard. Its a little rickety for my crooked old house, but its made of inexpensive materials and pretty much snaps together. It isnt entirely what i wanted for its purpose, but for something more solid id have to pay over $100.. u def get what u pay for... it would be good for a closet shoe storage (or even a shelving unit) instead of a decorative shoe hider that i had intended.. it is slightly bigger than the specs due to the pieces sticking out. I also dont care for how those mentioned pieces look sticking out as well as the shelf clips. Hopefully it at least will keep the kittens from fighting with my shoes and holds up to my boyfriends heavy work boots ... show more

I can’t believe I have so many shoes and I couldn’t find anything in the tiny closet. This was a bit of a pain to assemble but once put together it fit perfectly by the front door. Holds almost all of my shoes and receives compliments from visitors.

    • Conundrum between assembly and functionality

I'm stuck between horrible to assemble (1 star) , and liking the finished product (4 stars), so it get's 3. Assembly: - Comes with extra pieces, because you'll need them when the connectors break (several of them). Inevitably it will be on a lower level than the one you're working on, or in the middle and a pain in the butt to replace the broken connector and get it to "snap in," so expect some re-work and frustration. When I say broken I mean just that, the plastic is brittle and will literally snap and fly off. - You will soon come to the realization that you will never get all of the corners or sides of every connector snapped in, so you get as many as possible (still sturdy enough). Be advised this is not engineered to exacting tolerances. Once you get it together: Fits a lot of shoes, and I like that the front covers close (can fit 2 pairs in each cubicle if your shoe size is small-medium (up to mens 9 1/2-10 size). If you have big feet expect only one pair to fit per cubicle The closing "flip up" covers make the garage look cleaner than just having a bunch of open show racks. End of the day, pain in the butt to put together (think tinker toy but with connectors that break), but the conundrums that I like the finished product and the price is reasonable Hopefully no one will ever walk into this (not sturdy), cuz I'll cry and be looking for where I put those extra connectors, but it does the job of un-clustering my garage. ... show more

I chose an 8-tier shoe rack, and I felt lucky I bought two sets. It was easy to assemble, but it hurt my hands. The box comes with a toy-like hammer, but it didn't help to fit them well. I read some reviews that the boxes crackdown, so make sure every piece of the connectors must be well-fitted in. The picture shows a 2x8 shoe rack. It is just about enough pieces if you are not going to change it's pattern 2x8. I bought 2 sets of 2x8 for a 3x5, and some extra pieces for a single box. The product is sturdiness and easy to assemble, but the materials might not last long. ... show more
