Great sound for the money and much better sound compared to any TV speakers. The "Clear Voice" really beings out the voices more clearly and was quite surprised how well it works with movies. Very easy to hook up to enjoy great rich sound.

If you want good clear sound, This is the one to buy! Crystal clear when watching movies, shows, news, music. I'm hard of hearing & wear two hearing aids. This has a setting to make speech clearer & extra bass or you can remove some of the bass from loud movies when using the app on your phone. You can also add a sub woofer if you want to, but believe me you don't really need it unless you one of these people who likes to shake the walls when your TV is on. ... show more

Bought this to replace a dying bose soundbar. It's good, but not bose good. Best sound is when sittinng centered. It loses quality when sitting off to a side.. it can lack some clarity depending on show or channel.

Set up on Sony tv using E Arc with provided HDMI cable. My second Yamaha sound bar. This was the easiest and fastest setup I’ve ever had. Can’t believe how simple and quickly it connected with my 1 year old Sony tv. I’ve had sound bars that were so complicated and finicky about connection and proper sound that I just gave up on them. What an improvement in sound over earlier sound bars. Impressive surround for movies, music, and just plan dialogue. We watch many old movies and this does a phenomenal job of making the old movies sound good. If you’re looking for a simple setup with great sound without going crazy trying to play what you want; this is a superb high value product. My first Yamaha was purchased nearly 15 years ago and still works great on an older tv. Highly recommended! My second purchase from “World Wide Stereo” rated 5 stars for fast UPS delivery. the manufacture either didnt ship a remote or it was stolen because the package didnt have any factory seals on it. so it could have been stolen at amazon or yamaha or they didnt ship one from the factory. seems to work ok with roku remote but i paid for a yamaha remote. i did have amazon use its stealth packaging which hide the contents. the sound from the bar is ok for volume voices included but sounds a bit compressed in the midrange. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Note: video above I switch between each sound setting: stereo, standard, movie, and then finally gaming. Tldr: Decent midranged cost speaker. However, it might be worth it to save up more money for a better sounding system since Atmos mode is poor and the subwoofer is ok. <b>The sound bar </b> Sound quality is pretty good for the price of the speaker. Music sounds crisp and movies also sound great. It will definitely outperform any TV speakers. I use it in my medium sized living room and 50% is more than enough decibels for loud audio. There are 4 modes, stereo, standard, movie (Dolby Atmos), and gaming. I usually keep my speaker on standard, and maybe switch to movie or stereo depending on what I'm watching. I tried the gaming setting and it sounds bad. The movie mode has too much sound bleeding for regular viewing. <b> Dolby Atmos </b> Do not expect true surround sound with the Dolby Atmos, the feature does not work that well. If that's a serious selling point, then it's probably better if you invest in a full system instead of this speaker setup. I'm a bit disappointed with Atmos mode. And since this bar does not have "True X Surround Sound", I cannot use Yamaha back speakers to improve the surround sound. <b> The subwoofer </b> The subwoofer is pretty good. It can't get extremely loud, but provides enough tremble and bass for a excellent living room movie theater experience. It can only be connected to the speaker via Bluetooth. This setup is best placed in a small or midsized room. Also, when you turn off the sound bar, the subwoofer light repeatedly blinks. So you have to unplug the subwoofer every time you turn off your TV. <b> Simplicity (Good and bad) </b> Setting up the sound bar took almost no work: just plug it in and you're good. This was a positive experience. However it's simplicity has some downsides as well. There is limited configurability for this system. The only benefit of the app is you can manually change bass and tremble. Otherwise all the settings on the remote is what you get. Additionally, if you ever plan on replacing the subwoofer good luck since it only connects via Bluetooth. ... show more
