  • Love this
Color: Satin Nickel Style: No Wi-Fi
Got this because it was recommended by a family member who knows what he’s talking about. It was super easy to install and works amazingly well. The screws were easy to use especially since we were replacing an existing smart lock. It fits the door very well, in fact better than the original lock on our door. Only a few small complaints. 1. It’s frustrating that to connect it to wifi to use remotely you have to buy another expensive component. While the cheaper one we replaced came with that feature out of the box (the design look use and hardware quality on that one was much worse so it’s obviously a trade off). I will likely buy the wifi component still, but it isn’t absolutely necessary. 2. When the battery is dying it’s honestly not immediately obvious. It seems to notify you with a different sound but if I’m honest it’s not clear. When the battery is low but not dead the touch screen seems VERY slow to respond and takes longer to open but the phone key and keypad still both work. With full battery the thing works fantasticly and the app and setup for guest codes is awesome. I love it, it was an upgrade for sure. ... show more

  • Terrible support, poor battery life, one of four dead in less than a year
Color: Black Suede Style: No Wi-Fi
I bought 4 of these locks and 3 of them have been operating really well so far. Opening the locks with a phone tap or watch tap has been really nice! Unfortunately this is only true for 3 of the 4 locks. One of the locks seems to have trouble knowing whether it’s locked or not. That means the auto-lock after X minutes feature doesn’t work and when we come home to unlock the door, we find it never locked itself and we end up locking it when we try to open it. It’s very frustrating and means you can basically never rely on auto-lock to actually work. I'm working with customer support (email support) on this issue now so we'll see how it gets resolved. They have been very fast to respond but it's been a frustrating process because they seem fixated on this one potential cause that I feel like we've already ruled out multiple times. Update: Dropping to 1 star. After performing dozens of repeated tasks for customer support I am close to concluding that they never intend to resolve this issue. I honestly think that some companies force their customers to perform repeated "tests" over days and days to wear them down to the point where they finally give up. I get several emails daily with requests to do things that clearly have nothing to do with the problem or that anybody with basic logic skills would recognize we've already ruled out as a cause of the problem. The emails I get come from different support staff who clearly don't read the previous tests that other support staff have asked me to do. This has been a colossal waste of my time. Update: You can't check the battery status in the app. It is "supposed" to send you a push notification and an email when your battery is low. I never get these notifications or emails. The one time I did get an email it was poorly worded and sent 24 hours AFTER the thing was completely dead. These things chew through batteries. This last round of batteries didn't even last a month. Update: If you are looking for a new hobby to waste a bunch of your free time and get you really frustrated, then think about buying and maintaining these locks. One of the four we bought is now completely dead. It doesn't power up at all. There's no way on earth I'm talking to support. I have too much PTSD from my last encounter with them. I'm just going to call this one a loss and lessoned learned. The app experience for removing this dead lock was an exercise in absolute futility. There's no real way to remove a lock that it can't connect to. I can't even begin to explain the nightmare that I've gone through to try to manage codes for guests. If you care about your mental health, find something other than this. ... show more

  • This is one of the best smart lock out there.
Color: Oil Rubbed Bronze Style: Wi-Fi
It has been great. From time to time I'll get notifications that it has disconnected from wifi but it has never been a problem because it'll self connect. You can unlock and lock remotely and you are able see if door is lock or unlock while away. Installation was pretty simple.

  • Works quite well
Color: Black Suede Style: Wi-Fi
This was my first smart lock or keypad lock. I have had it for a couple of weeks and so far it works quite well. I bought the Apple version and I quite like that I can open it with my iPhone. It generally seems quite well and I only have a couple of minor complaints. The first is that the rectangular plate on the edge of the latch on the part that goes on the door is not removeable. My door only had a round hole on the edge of the door for the latch so I had to chisel a rectangular space for the plate. Other locks that I have purchased had removable plates so I have never had to do that before. The second issue is that the strike plate that goes on the door jamb is just a rectangular whole with no metal box for the deadbolt as in other deadbolts I have purchased. Fortunately, I had a sturdy strike plate with a metal box from another lock and I used that and screwed it into the stud. Perhaps they intend this to be a retrofit lock and assume you already have a decent strike plate. Nonetheless, for the price I would have expected they would include a decent strike plate as I think that is essential for a deadbolt to prevent someone easily breaking in. If you only used the included strike plate then I don’t think it would be very secure as the only thing holding the deadbolt would the door jamb which is a fairly thin piece of wood. These are two minor concerns and easily dealt with All in all it seems like a decent item. ... show more
