  • Smart, Secure, and Versatile – Major Upgrade
Color: Black Suede Size: Wi-Fi (Extended Range) Pattern Name: Keypad - With Key
I recently upgraded to the Yale Assure Lock 2 after previously using an older version that didn’t have a physical key. When the batteries died on that model, I was completely locked out, which made me realize how important it is to have multiple access options. This newer lock has been a major improvement. It offers more flexibility and peace of mind. I can unlock the door using my phone via Bluetooth, enter a code on the keypad, or even use the included key if needed. The added Wi-Fi connectivity has been especially convenient, allowing me to unlock the door remotely if someone needs access while I’m away. Overall, this lock feels premium and thoughtfully designed. It looks great, functions reliably, and gives me much more confidence in securing my home. Yale really does go beyond the average lock—this has become a must-have in my setup. ... show more

The Yale Assure Lock 2 has been a game-changer for our home. As someone who loves gadgets, I’ve found the integration of the keypad and Wi-Fi features incredibly convenient. It was easy to install and the sleek black suede finish fits perfectly with our modern decor. The extended battery life is a nice touch, as I don't have to worry about frequent replacements. Setting up the app was straightforward, and the ability to lock or unlock remotely gives me peace of mind, especially when I’m busy with my daughter or when we're out for the weekend. I also appreciate the option to give temporary codes to guests, which is particularly handy when we have friends visiting. Overall, the lock feels sturdy and secure, living up to the high standards I've come to expect from Yale. It's not just a lock; it's an upgrade to our home's security that blends seamlessly with everyday life. • Glitches In App But Great Lock Once Set Up
Color: Black Suede Size: Wi-Fi (Extended Range) Pattern Name: Keypad - With Key
Over the past few years, I have tried several so-called smart locks; some being smarter than others. The Yale Assure Lock 2 almost got a perfect score. UNBOXING: Yale does a nice job packing their locks. Most everything was found in the box except for the Wi-Fi Bridge instructions. The lockset only comes with one key. I deducted one star due to that. INSTALLATION: The lockset itself is well designed and installed easily following pretty fair instructions. I installed mine on an unconventional door; a metal security screen door. The Yale people said this wouldn’t work with all the features, however, mine does them all fairly well. The app loaded as you would expect and paired with the lock without issue. The lock mechanism works smoothly. Where the set up fell a little short was with the so-called Wi-Fi Connect also known as a Wi-Fi bridge. The apparent singular benefit of the Wi-Fi bridge is to be able to monitor your lock remotely. No instructions were included in the set up and you need to dig online to find them. Once you find the instructions, setting up on an Android phone was tricky as the instructions in the app send you into a loop, requiring you to temporarily disable a feature on the phone and the app produced an error message. However, the bridge installed anyway. I could not get the app to report on the signal strength of the Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connections. The bridge plugs into a nearby electric outlet and optimizes that outlet. USE: Once installed, my favorite feature is the automatic unlocking mode. I have that feature turned on and when I return home, my front door is automatically unlocked as I pull in my driveway. This is very handy when you have your hands full. You don’t need to fumble for your keys. The lock can be locked or unlocked from the app via Bluetooth when in range. For example, if you are not sure if you locked your door at night, simply look at the app and it will give you the condition of the lock, and if unlocked, a touch on the screen will remotely lock the door. The Wi-Fi Bridge is effective when you may be away from home and need to unlock the door for a visitor. The app does that, too. The lock can also be operated with a key or the touchpad. IMPRESSIONS: Overall, this is a good lock with a few glitches in the app. Once those are overcome, you will enjoy the convenience and peace of mind this lockset brings to your home. Yale just needs to get it together on minor app improvements, include all necessary instructions and supply at least two keys. Customer service will set Yale apart from the competition. This is one of the smartest locks I have tested and, in spite of the shortcomings, I would recommend the Yale Assure Lock 2 Keypad with Wi-Fi Connect. ... show more

  • Not Your Grandma's Home Lock
Color: Black Suede Size: Wi-Fi (Extended Range) Pattern Name: Keypad - With Key
I grabbed this to replace my Nest Yale lock, thinking it'd be a straightforward swap. It's... not. This lock is built for property managers and vacation rental hosts who constantly cycle through guest codes—not homeowners like me who just want to lock their door and move on. The Wi-Fi Connect is solid for remote access, but the whole vibe feels clunky compared to what I had before. Setting up temporary PIN codes is tedious, and the interface assumes I'm managing multiple properties. For a personal home lock, it's overkill in all the wrong ways. If I'm managing vacation rentals or short-term rentals with constant turnover, I'd probably love it. But as a straight replacement for a Nest Yale? Hard pass. My old lock was simpler and just worked better for my needs. ... show more
