YakAttack TowNStow Bunkster Kayak Cart with Sand Tires

Q: What makes the TowNStow Bunkster with sand tires different from other kayak carts? A: Unlike standard hard-surface wheels, this version includes 14” x 7” air-filled balloon tires optimized for sand and soft terrain. They spread weight across a wide surface area, preventing sinking and making it easier to haul heavy kayaks over beaches, mud, or loose soil. Q: How does the adjustable bunk system work? A: The Bunkster uses two parallel uprights configured in a bunk-style layout that can be positioned in six different widths (6.25”–16”). Each upright has rubber-padded bumpers that grip securely without damaging your kayak’s hull. Q: Is the cart easy to assemble and disassemble? A: Yes. The cart is designed for tool-free adjustment with no small loose parts. The wheels snap on and off with a push of a button, while the uprights detach quickly using detent levers. The entire cart breaks down into five main pieces that fit in most kayak hatches. Q: How stable is the cart when loading a kayak? A: The TowNStow Bunkster features two dual kick-away kickstands, one on each side. These support your kayak during loading, making it easier to balance and strap down gear without tipping. Q: What tie-down options are available? A: The cart includes integrated tie-down points sized for 1” flat cam straps (not included). The central tie-down point is ideal for securing your kayak tightly to the axle. Q: How much weight can this kayak cart handle? A: Built from anodized aluminum, stainless steel hardware, and UV-resistant polymers, the Bunkster is rated for loads up to 242 lbs—sufficient for most fully rigged fishing kayaks and SUPs. Q: Can it be used in saltwater environments? A: Absolutely. The cart is designed for harsh marine conditions. Anodized and stainless components resist corrosion, while UV-stabilized polymers maintain strength even under constant sun exposure.
