  • Best kayak outriggers
Made my ascend 10t so stable I can walk to the front. Put them in the front for when you stand it'll have better stability and the connection to the floor to the walls is more stronger. Mounted with the included wellnuts, sometimes they pull out a little but just re tighten

  • Great product
My weight 305 pounds plus the weight of fishing gear, so I am about the weight limit capacity of my kayak which is 325 pounds; so my kayak felt very unstable and one time I tipped over in a springs. Most of the time I go fishing to lakes full of alligators near Tallahassee, so I decided to try to improve the safety of my kaya installing the stabilizers, after a couple of days of research, I decided to buy the Yak gear ones, installed them in 30 minutes, and went fishing the next day. Wow, what a change, my kayak feels now very stable and secure and I do not feel any difference in dragging. I recommend this product 100%, very good quality and very easy to install, and very important also, 100 percent American made. ... show more

  • Quality matches price, lightweight but sturdy
I think any outriggers, be them cheap inflatable or these, are going to give roughly the same stability so I feel this high price boils down to high quality parts and features that will hold up in salt, unobtrusive and well designed with lots of ease of use features and follows the sleek nature of a kayak. If a larger 6 bolt base was available it would be five stars. I would absolutely buy again. Pros: Even though they’re expensive, I feel the quality of the parts as well as fit and finish warrant it. I was skeptical but they are well thought out and executed so now that I have them it’s not an inflated price imo. For example, the insides of the tubes are painted which is a well thought out detail and they should handle salt for a long time. Superb running stability on my Pelican catch 100. They handled 1-2’ waves well enough that I’m now more comfortable going out on rougher days which gives me a lot more chances to go out and enjoy. I didn’t notice any sign of drag, my speeds remained the same as before installing. Over joyed with standing stability, I was able to sidearm cast and lean over the edge all while reaching down adjusting the trolling motor speed/direction, all of which could get sketchy sitting down without these. I appreciate the low profile more than I thought, these are barely noticeable with a clear view what’s in front of you (if you plan to mount them forward) and they’re not distracting at all. They look and feel like a natural extension of the kayak The mounts are very sturdy and convenient which I’m sure was a large part of the cost as Railblaza isn’t cheap but they were the right choice here. It’s basically one button to remove them yet it is very secure. Simple to install, just take your time, directions are clear english with good attention to detail yet easy to follow. Cons: I feel they should offer larger mounts with 6 screws to give more surface area attached to the plastic so it doesn’t flex so much, either as an option or offer an adaptor. I don’t feel it’s going to rip through the plastic or anything but something I plan to address in future trips. It’s a high end product that lives up to its high end price ... show more

  • Just take your time and use a screwdriver, no drill
I installed these at the rear of my kayak since I started using it for fishing. Followed the directions and you do have to turn those screws a lot, when they get snug, stop. Works awesome, very stable, and easy to remove when loading in the truck. My buddy saw them and order one. Do put the kayak on a flat surface and take the time get them straight. And install was very easy. ... show more

  • Improved stability better than I'd hoped
Between in the instructions in the package and the video on Amazon, these were incredibly easy to install once you overcome the hesitation about drilling holes in your kayak. I bought a discount fishing kayak because I hoped for stability but didn't want to pay that much for it. I spent a whole summer disappointed because I got what I paid for and my kayak would tip if I didn't focus on balancing all the time. Literally sitting still would cause it to go over if i didn't actively shift back and forth to keep it upright. With these stabilizers mounted it has become the kayak I'd hoped it was. I can finally focus on enjoying being on my kayak instead of just staying upright. ... show more

I put this on my kayak for duckhunting. And I was amazed of the stability they are awesome I would highly recommend them. My kayak is a perception 9.5 swift. I am really test these out beat them against floating logs banks they are very very durable. You would not be disappointed in purchasing these out Riggers. I couldn’t be more happier. ... show more

  • Mounts made of a thermoplastic known to shatter
Issues I've had. 1. The Plastic mounts are made of a cheap hard thermoplastic making them prone to shattering especially when the bottom is filled with holes. It should be one whole piece of plastic. Or make it out of aluminum alloys. 2. The riggers adjustment knob teeth aren't fine enough so there's really no fine adjustments to the angles. You can make in work tho. But one float is always going to be floating higher out of the water than the other. Probably by about 2-3 inches, but if you lean to one side it will hold you up. 3. I needed these as I did the Stadium seat upgrade which replaces the low sitting kayak seat and places you up about 4-6 inches higher so it made the kayak almost to top heavy to use.. These did improve the stability of my kayak though. 4. No I could not stand on my kayak with these outriggers, Maybe a bird boned dude could at 145-165lbs but me at 260 could not ... show more

  • Outriggers are great.
The outriggers are perfect. They were easy to attach and work great. While I was new to a kayak and afraid I would tip over, the outriggers provided the stability needed.
