    • Good and sturdy chairs - tips for installation

Just completed my installation - the chairs are nice-looking and sturdy (do not know yet how long they last). Here are some tips that make the installation easier. (1) Install the chairs on a table or kitchen counter - much easier than do it on the floor. There are two reasons - the first reason is easier for your back; the second reason is subtle but more important - the screw only goes into the nut if the screw aligns very well with the nut. - it is much easier to judge the screw's alignment when it is close to you than an arm away from above. (2) To make the chair sturdy, you have to tighten the screws - each chair has nine screws. (3) To make the chair not wobbly, you have to level all four legs. The seat connects to the back via five screws - four corner ones and one central one. You can slightly rotate the seat relative to the back around the central screw, which is how to level the two back legs. Two front legs each has a slight space up and down, which help to level two front legs. Plus, two front legs each has a level screw under the leg. That is all from my installation. ... show more

I purchased these chairs to replace a set literally on their last legs. I am not one to be moved to write Amazon reviews much. But this was a superior experience. First the cost was very reasonable for the quality. Second the shipping was timely and all of the parts were carefully packed. Third the hardware came with extras - I didn't end up needing them but I thought that was very thoughtful. Fourth it was easy to assemble. And the product is comfortable and beautiful. I am extremely satisfied and recommend it wholeheartedly. The only thing I will add to a prospective buyer is just to allow plenty of time for screwing in the screws - it's done with an allen wrench, included, but it just takes time and patience. The instruction manual was easy to follow too. FWIW I am not someone who one would consider "handy", on a scale of 1-10 in terms of 10 being most difficult I would say this was about a 3. The parts actually fit together! They look very nice. Only complaint is there’s pretty much no padding on seats. Doesn’t look like that, but I was surprised to sit in one - feels like a wooden box. These chairs were nicer than I expected. I bought them for my son’s apartment and actually thought about keeping them for myself. The cushions are very comfortable and the chair feels sturdy. These chairs work pretty good but I don't think they are worth the amount. They aren't hard to assemble until you realize that the legs are uneven. They also aren't that sturdy and the legs bend a little weird. Ok for a temporary chair but nothing that I would and expect to last for a long time.

The main issue is the fake leather doesn't seem to last very long. I ordered four of these chairs. So far only one has peeled at the top of the back. Heavy usage from pulling chair in and out. If you think one month since we bought these could worn that quickly, I guess. The other three are fine for now. Easy to install and lowest priced chairs we could find in this style. UPDATE: I sent an email to customer service with photos and the sent out a replacement back of the chair really fast. I am very impressed.
