UPDATED AFTER 1 YEAR ---- They remain solid. No complaints still. Choose a weight, jiggle it to ensure it is locked in and go for it. I've still not had a weight malfunction. I use them daily. I just bought a bigger set, same company. These are an expansion to this old man’s home gym. I’m growing beyond the two 25-pound dumbbells I previously bought from Lispar and Flybird. Bought one at a time, 25 pounds each. They are both nice but taught me a few fine tune details. This 40 pound set of 2 totaling 80 pounds from Yaheetech is better in a few ways. The grips are primarily plastic, but they have 4 rubbery grip strips that provide easy on the skin great, but not excessive, control and ... grip. The weights have a flat bottom. When setting down on a foam mat, they don’t roll away! The use of inequal size weight plates do offer a very welcome set of additional total weight options. 3, 7, 13, 14.5 , 17, 20, 24, 27, 29, 31, 36, 40 The Dumbbells slip into the Racks a little easier than the other two brands. The weight numbers are in bright white on a black background making it easier for older eyes and darker rooms. The wights have a better audible click confirming an accepted weight change. The Racks are very strong and sturdy; but I keep mine on a hard wood floor, so I’ll add 4 felt stick on coasters. The first sets are 12 months old and holding up very well. I’ll try to update this in 12 months. These dumbbells work great with my bench and matts. Worth the money, not much you can say about dumbbell's, but they are balanced, work as they should, and I haven't had any problems with them. For an amateur person getting into shape they are easy, and tidy in the room and doesnt take up to much space so when I get the urge to lift I can and their not in the way. The quality appears to be very good and definitely worth the money.

I see a lot of reviews about weights falling off..I've had this set for several months now and use them reagually. I've have not experienced this problem..You'll hear an audiable click sound when locked into position for the weight you selected. When you pick them up off the base just give them a quick shake to confirm ther in place...Simple as that These are solid with a good grip. When using, just be smart and don't drop the weights on the ground. The great thing is that you don't need to buy an entire set of dumbells and rack to store them.. This set takes up minmal space.

This item looks great and seems to be a good value, especially for the first few days. Unfortunately, the mechanisms start to fail and require disassembly and reassembly to be able to operate again. This happens repeatedly and eventually gets very old. I attempted to return them due to this manufacturing defect and they will allow you to return them, but you must pay for shipping, which is in excess of the cost of the item to begin with,Iftry tothemwillshippinghundred of dollars which is how they discourage people from returning them. Amazon, you should rethink selling this product as it is absolutely faulty.

There's an inherent trait of these that makes lifting more difficult. The weight isn't a full circle, so the side opposite the red locking bar is heavier. That makes for a pretty extreme grip strength workout while curling. As you bring the weight up, the heavier side wants to stay pointing down, so your wrist and forearm have to do a lot more than just hold the weight to keep it in line with your arm. I never would have thought of that before buying these and using them. Not specific to this brand; I'm sure that just how adjustable weights are. BUILD: Quality seems good so far. Base is made of sturdy plastic and metal tube. Weights adjust and slot in and out very easily. I'm being gentle with them, as there is a lot of plastic, but I doubt they'll encounter issues with normal workouts. Probably not the best for failure workouts where you have a chance of dropping them. Grip is comfortable, but I'm relatively tall, so milage may vary for smaller hands.

So glad I got these. I had all sizes all over my room and with these being multiple weights as an all in one, is so much cleaner in my home gym. Got them at a great price too. I did have a couple times where they slipped from the disk hold but that was error on my part believe, but easy to fix.
