This is a very solid piece. The metal has a heavy duty feel to it. There are multiple washers and nuts to us to help the wheel spin evenly. The big rubber feet on the base help keep whatever surface you place this on unscathed. The little wooden tooth can be adjusted up into the spring to allow for the precise spinning ability you want to achieve. The dry erase marker is included as well as an eraser. I will most likely still use my fine tip dry erase markers to be able to write anything more than a number or letter in the colorful leaves. I do appreciate it being a dry erase surface, as it allows for more uses. This is a fun addition to our family bag of tools. Everybody wants to spin the wheel. The ideas are endless. Assign each color an activity to choose from or a responsibility that can be rotated amongst family members. That is how I am going to set it up initially. We seem to have difficulty with loading and unloading the dishwasher at our house. I am hopeful by adding a chance assignment of responsibilities to the mix will keep the dishes flowing in and out of the dishwasher as opposed to a traffic jam we usually experience. I would recommend this spinning wheel to friends and family. Not sure about a gift idea, only because if you do not have a need for its use, it might seem unhelpful to the recipient. Product looks pretty good, I think it's drastically overpriced, but after doing some research about competitors, it seems this whole segment is out of whack, and someone could undercut the whole industry, but the takeaway is that this product is priced in line with the product segment. The instructions aren't amazingly clear at first glance but I was able to work most of it out, and I have a spinning wheel. However, the, dowel, or clicker, or whatever terminology you may want, the protrusion that slows and eventually stops the wheel, is an incredible headache that I ended up jerryrigging because it simply would not work the way it was meant to. You have to insert a wooden peg inside of a spring, and then a rubber cap atop it, and there is no way to do both. If one is on the other won't and vice versa. A defect of mine or terrible design in general? Could be either, I've only seen this one wheel. But I got creative and MacGyver'd it into functionality. ... show more

This is a great size for a craft fair, easy enough to assemble. The wooden dowel/plastic tip kept flying off when the wheel would get spun a bit too hard so we've opted to leave it off. It got stuck anyway when it was on and pointed to a different leaf than the actual arrow which could cause minor issues. Overall this seems a bit pricey but time and spins will tell the value. ... show more

This was super easy to put together and looks great! It works mostly well, though if I spin too hard the little dowel used to stop the wheel will pop off. That is obviously a problem but it can be fixed quickly. Also I love that you can make a personalized graphic since it's just a piece of cardstock to add that level of customization.
