Style: 2800W Demolition Jack Hammer
I was dubious of the utility of this jackhammer when I ordered it however I needed something to break through some buried rocks and the daily rental fee from the nearest big box store was 70% of the cost of this jackhammer and the store is nearly an hour away. I felt the potential risk was worth the convenience as well as ownership of a new tool relative to renting one for a day. When I received the jackhammer, I opened the case and found oil coating much of the jackhammer as well as interior of the case. It had a red tinge which makes me think it is a shipping preservative rather than oil that leaked out. I added the recommended Rotella SAE 40 and took the jackhammer to my project site and put it to work. I’m not entirely sure what the power draw of this hammer is but my 3000w Ego power station is able to keep it running without issue. I set the chisel edge against the first rock, put some weight against the jackhammer and pulled the trigger. Each strike against the rock could be felt through my feet even when the rock was as deep as 30” below the surface and mostly encased in dense, packed clay. The chisel quickly split the first rock and in less than a minute, I was sectioning the split piece for easier extraction. I was blown away by how quickly the jackhammer split 2” thick (and thicker) rock. For my needs, this is more than enough power and thus far, I’m seems to be a great value. I found this jackhammer easy and reasonably comfortable to control despite the weight. I am of average fit and can run this jackhammer for 2-4 hours, busting up buried rocks before I set it aside so I am able to keep using it the following day. The weight of the jackhammer and the fitness of the user should definitely be considered as controlling and moving the weight can be fatiguing. Throughout the project, I found myself very grateful for the way the support handle can be so easily adjusted. When working within the hole, it was so convenient to be able to shift the support handle and adjust the angle of the machine in the hole rather than reposition it which would require supporting and moving it. Reading the manual, I did notice that this unit does not come with a brushless motor so I am expecting it to eventually and gradually lose power. But being an occasional user (this is used on our farm), I would be surprised if this was an issue for me. I am very pleased with this purchase thus far. It is a welcome addition to my tool catalog and I have ordered the additional attachments to maximize the utility. I did notice that to avoid oil leaking out when in storage, I need to store it so the buckles on the case are oriented so they are on top. ... show more

  • Works like a champ at an affordable cost.
Style: 2800W Demolition Jack Hammer
I had an aunt that needed an old fence line gone. They had poured a 60 ft slab of concrete on an old fence line that was left. They had wanted it gone for years but didn’t have the money or time to. Money is pretty tight so I tried to consider all my options to help them out with a budget of 300$. I came across this item scrolling on Amazon looking at Bosch demolition hammers that retail at 700$. When I had received this demo hammer there was hydraulic fluid spilled in the case. It was a bit frustrating but for 200$ that can be ignored. I used it on 14 inch deep concrete with ease. Thankfully it performed very well. I was able to remove it all within 3 days of work. Note that on the 3rd day I considered using an angle grinder to sharpen the tip to create more concentrated force in a small area to break it up. It worked 4X faster than the previous two days and I was able to finish. If you’re needing to remove something and don’t want to spend a small fortune I’d recommend this 100%. ... show more

  • Best Bang for the Buck!
Style: 2800W Demolition Jack Hammer
OK so you're on the fence about whether you should spend the money to buy something that's half the price of other units. The one at HF is twice the price of this one. The other name brands much more expensive. You won't go wrong with this one. I got the higher powered one and it performs flawlessly! I had to cut/chip away a 4' x 4' solid piece of cement that someone left me to hold a basketball hoop up. Took all but a few hours which was very good given the fact it was such a big piece. You'll have to fill it with oil. I went to Auto Zone to buy Shell's Rotella Oil. All it is is a heavier duty diesel oil. I got Synthetic T4 15W-40. Worked very well! I was faced with having to rent a machine to remove the cement I wanted to get rid of, but I was having a hard time willing to fork out big bucks for a 4 hour rental. Usually, I bring home these rentals to find that there's something wrong with the equipment. I then have to return it to exchange it for one that works. Sometimes many trips have to be made. So, I've given up on rentals for that reason and went with this. I can keep it for future use or just sell it for dollars below what I paid for it. So, if you're on that fence on what to do, go for it! You'll be happy that you can take your time and won't have to worry about a quick return to avoid OT charges. Update 5/3/2020 Found out that screw for handle wasn't missing. My bad. There's a knob that attaches to the lug screw for the jackhammer handle. This isn't the main handle with the trigger. This is the other handle for guiding the jackhammer when in use. This is an AWESOME JACKHAMMER! WOULD BUY AGAIN!!! ... show more

  • Great electric hammer
Style: 2800W Demolition Jack Hammer
Howdy, I have used the 2200 W for a long time. I purchased an additional 2800 W model in July. I read that it has more punch, but don't bother with the 3,600 W, as it is not much stronger than 2,800 W. I have never tried a 3,600 W, so I am not sure, but based on the specifications, the 2,800 is worth the extra $ compared to the 2,200. Folks told me "no, the 2,800 W won't be noticeably stronger than the 2,200 W." The were wrong. The XtremePower I purchased from Stark Tools is very much stronger. In fact, a person using a 2,200 W put theirs away and used mine to finish up in half the time. Only one complaint, and the source of the down-rating. The screws are not put in with thread lock, so they come out, and the switch on the handle burned out in an hour, the same experience as other users. It is a cheap switch, but easy to replace for DIY types. When you buy one, take out the each screw of the chisel end assembly and apply thread locker then re-torque. Do each in turn. Don't take them all out at the same time. Do this before you put oil in. They leak a bit. I wonder if 90 weight gear oil would be best. Anyhoo, these are minor issues for a kicking tool at a kicking price. ... show more

  • Lightweight BEAST!!!
Style: 2800W Demolition Jack Hammer
I ordered this item July of last year. I am renovating a home that was built in 1978, and the concrete is super strong. I live out in the country, so renting is difficult and expensive. I had my reservations due to the price, but this hammer is a BEAST. I have used it no less than 11 times to replum and it delivered effortlessly. I was surprised how little I had to apply pressure. Due to the light weight it easy to control. Very happy with this product. It has more than paid for itself. ... show more

  • It is heavy, does the job.
Style: 2800W Demolition Jack Hammer
The unit is HD and therefore a heavy weight. A tool like this should be. Easy tool change. If you're using this for anything above your waist you better have some guns! Works for breaking concrete, rock, shale, tile and anything that'll split or crack under point load. Used for post holes with shale 6" under top soil all the way to 2' depth. Have to remove off hand grip to fit in 8" dia. hole but it breaks it up to remove it with hand digging tools. Augers just spin on top of shale, so it needs to be broken up. Breaks rocks in the hole, no need to dig the entire rock out, expanding the hole oversize and wasting time and energy. Also will cut roots in the hole. Bought additional tamping tool as well. Saves lots of energy after backfilling with crushed limestone gravel. No concrete makes fence repairs / post replacement much easier. Falling tree or large limbs = Tree 1, fence 0 ... show more

  • Worth every penny IMHO!!!!
Style: 2800W Demolition Jack Hammer
The jack hammer worked great!! Better than expected for what its worth. I bought it for the people who worked on my retaining wall. By knowing that the price for a decent jack hammer would easily cost 4 times what I paid for this item, they all laughed when I told them how much I paid for it. But when they saw it perform everyone wanted one for themselves. They couldn't believe the power that this item had. It can almost compete with the higher end brands. The only difference is if you really need a more powerful hammer for bigger jobs then it is suggested to get a name brand as this one will be lacking in power. But for small jobs of digging or breaking concrete this will be all you'd need. I don't have any experience with other jack hammers so I don't know how this would compare. I used this to break a 4" concrete slab. I moved to different areas of the concrete but all in all it took me about 20 seconds to break it. Its really worth the money. I bought it from ihubdeal. Their service is top notch. I had issues with spare parts that came with the order and they immediately corrected the issue. The went as far as getting a replacement sent out by the manufacturer asap. I would buy from them again. ... show more

  • Impossible to reach customer service
Style: 2800W Demolition Jack Hammer
The 2800 watt jackhammer hammers ok, cheap Dollar Tree version of leather gloves and Dollar Tree version of safety goggles. No instructions, but many thanks for reviews plus questions and answers by other customers, I just gotta get specifically Shell Rotella T1 SAE 40 motor oil to fill - easy to do after watching a YouTube video unboxing instruction. Pointed tip got dull (became a 3/4 inch wide point) the first hour - managed to break off only 3 inches deep of a 12"X12" hole in a sandstone boulder where I need to keep on hammering until it's 3 feet deep - looks like it's going to be many long hammering days before I can finally put a fence post in but I've been prevented by multiple rains; the same day I first used the hammer, I looked up Amazon to buy a couple more pointed tips to hammer that sandstone obstacle - no pointed tips. No other places I sought via Google sell the compatible tips - xtremepowerus has its own proprietary fitting so I called xtremepowerus after finding their website and called their "contact us" phone number; at 8am Central Time, it's a recording saying something like "enter the extension number" again, again, again endlessly, looked at the website, no extension number, then I emailed xtremepowerus; it's been 2 business days (emailed on Thursday morning before 9am) and now it's a Friday evening, no reply. But when I called the same number again, this time, it's press one for this business name, two for Amazon, three for different business name, I pressed the number for Amazon, it's the same recording again, again, again, then I looked up the seller who sells this pita, that seller's business name was not on the recording, pressed Amazon again, it's the same old recording going on and on. I regret buying this hammer even though it works fine, hoping this problem is covid-19-related; I'll update once I get a chance to buy replacement tips, hopefully of a tougher material. Now I'm going to grind the dull tip, making it a wider angled tip so that it'll be stronger than previously. Praying to overcome that underground boulder. UPDATE 40 days later: Finally see replacement tips for sale here on Amazon, whew, getting one an extra before it disappears again but when I first jackhammered, that little piece broke off from the tip the first hour of use that caused me to lose confidence in its ability then I grinded then it didn't break again. It's very hard to remove the bull point tip to be grinded/sharpened - pulling the lock and tweak it to free the tip is a tricky thing to do, seems to take a hairpin lockpicking skill to achieve this. Customer service still hasn't responded my email and phone attempts in one and half months so it's clear there's no such thing as customer service. I still would go for it again if it breaks but I would seek alternatives to buy a similar model with a little more oomph that draws no more than 3,300 watts (this limit's set by my 4,000 watt peak gas powered generator's max sustaining power) hopefully with a better customer service dept. But still I'm making slow progress with grinded/filed point tip, still am happy that I don't have to spend so much on rentals. ... show more
