Very nice set for the money. Some cutting edges were burred and the sharpening stone is not the greatest but swap it out with a good one and use it for axes and rough edges. Overall its a good value. Just expect to clean up edges

For what you pay, this is an excellent set. I needed carving tools to finish out my semester in a sculpture class after our on campus classs were cancelled for Covid. If you’re looking for a long lasting, professional level quality set then this isn’t it but for beginners it’s perfect and has everything you could need! We go camping a lot. I wanted something safer than the pocket knifes I got them, to carve into trees and picnic tables. My kiddos are still a bit younger, I can't keep my eyes on both of them at the same time. For there safety. So I thought of these. These are perfect.

I was looking for chisels for carving wood from time to time without spending a lot of money. I settled on this set based on overall customer review, the number of chisels included, rasps, sharping stone , and storage roll. I had no expectations of a high quality set. I knew that this set was not comprised of electronically hardened alloy steel blades, would not have nice hardwood handles, or polished blades. I was looking for a beginner’s set versus a $500+ professional set. However, while this set put me in a good price bracket, the quality is poor and the set is not for beginners. These chisels require a lot of grinding and sharping. In my attached picture, the V gouge has a blunt edge right near the V. This blunt edge is enough to prevent you from carving wood. The other chisels are poorly sharpened and some have uneven edges. I don’t think that most beginners will want or know how to get these chisels ready for use. So, what about the good reviews? I donno. Perhaps, the set i received was subpar, bad luck. Either way, quality control is not great. Keep this in mind that as a beginner poor tools will extend the time it takes you to master new skills, waste material, and lead you to buy new tools down the road.
