  • Bad out of the box
Purchased this unit. Install was very simple. Plugged it in let it run for 3-4 hours. Temp never changed, zero heat out of the outlet into the pool. Tried to change the settings and still no heat. Contacted Amazon for a return. They sent me a return label, however they wanted me to pay for shipping on a 50 lb unit that was defective??? I emailed them back and the selling company resent another label for them to pay the shipping. Had my money back in 3 day. Good luck if you purchase this unit and hope it works for you. ... show more

  • Gets an A+
Works really well (14,500 BTU model). I have a 15ft round above ground pool and the highest water temp with the heater I have achieved is 92 on a sunny day. Takes about 12 hours of running the heater to achieve this. I tested it and the the heater itself outputs water at 88-94 degrees depending on the current pool temp. On a cloudy cooler day I would say it gets the pool to 86-90. You will definitely also need some sort of pool cover to get these results as this helps the pool get hotter (the instruction manual also recommends this). Overall surprised how well this works given it is significantly cheaper than similarly BTU rated heaters out there. ... show more

  • Could have worked, but....
My set up should have been pretty easy. I have a 300 gallon spa/pool with an intex 925 filter system. Was replacing the heater that came with spa/pool. Set up wasn't bad (did have to connect the power cable, but a google search was all that took). After set up, thats when the problems started: 1) Description says the unit will heat water to 100 degrees. I CANT b/c the thermostat only goes to 95. 2) Instructions say keep 7 feet from other objects. Every other heat pump on the market says 18-24 inches 3) Heat time of 300 gallons of water at 14700 BTUs should be measured in hours. It took two days to go from 70 to 95. At 80% efficiency, it should have taken 6 hours. I suspect the heat exchanger description is false. 4) Two weeks in, got a P4 error. Which means the flow of the water was not sufficient. Water flow rate was dead on, which means a bad pressure sensor. 5) The final straw was trying to contact the manufacturer. Called 10 times over a 4 hour period. No answer. They said "we are having a high volume of calls". LOL, I bet they are. 6) Instructions on the call announcement were send an email. Email response was: Allow 5 DAYS for a response or 10 DAYS if you are ordering a part. 7) Requested a refund, got a return authorization. But I have to pay for shipping for a 50lb heat pump. Shipping cost is $110. End of the story: was very disappointed with the product and company support. ... show more

  • These devices are not as user friendly as advertised!
The product did not meet my needs. It’s not as user friendly as they advertised. And it did not warm my pool. However the seller was extremely pleasant to deal with and made the return as easy as it possibly could’ve been. Thank you to IHUB deal for making the return painless. Do some research before you purchase one of these heaters. I wish I would’ve. ... show more

  • DOA
This thing was dead on arrival. Also, you have to screw the power cord into the pump itself which was a surprising pain. Once screwed in it didn't show any signs of life. The manufacturer has awful support hours and hung up on me during them because they were too busy. Like the VRU system wouldn't even let me wait for an agent - it just hung up on me multiple times throughout the day. They did email me back a week later to let me know the heat pump did indeed need to be hooked up to the pool with water flowing to turn on but that didn't help my dead heat pump. One other thing - the pump itself is fine outdoors but the plug that plugs into the outlet is indoors only - WTF? I returned it to Amazon and was gong to be on the hook for return shipping but the seller came through and paid for it. Great seller - terrible product. ... show more

  • Great value for the $$
Used on in ground pool. ~7k gallon. Didn’t have access to 220v. It does take a few days 2-3, to bring temp up but does the job..
