I have used this ladder for several outdoor house maintenance tasks. It has been easy to telescope up for use. When it is retracted it is as easy to move and carry as a suitcase. It stores very nicely (not taking up much space) and can fit into the trunk of a car. If the ladder is only partially telescoped up then there is one high step upon first climbing the ladder. In my opinion the positive aspects of the ladder outweigh the difficulty of the first high step in this situation. Be sure to read the instruction sheet and pay attention to how to place your hands when retracting the ladder to avoid a pinching hazard. ... show more

I love this ladder. I've had it now for about a year and have used it both indoors and outdoors. I purchased it because of the way it collapses down for storage and transport. It is fairly lightweight and easy to move around. I'm short and I am able to maneuver the ladder around fairly easily. I use it regularly to change batteries on my security cameras.     • Fussy to retract, but worth it to me

Update: It's been a year and a half or so since I bought and lubed this ladder as described in my original review. It still operates much more smoothly than when I first got it. Understandably some of the silicone lube I applied to the ladder itself and the catch releases has gone away over time. I'll be re-applying the aerosol silicone lube before next use. If you buy one of these ladders and it happens to not smoothly extend and retract, I strongly recommend you apply some areosol silicone to the uprights and especailly to the release catches. i (and presumably you) do not want to be fighting with stickiness when retracting the ladder. Original review: When my ladder arrived, I extended a bottom rung from the bottom (not the recommended way to extend BTW) and I could not get it to retract. Because it was only one rung and the bottom one, all I had do was flip it over upside down and it retracted with no trouble. Next I wanted to make sure all latches and catches were operational before trying to use this ladder for any real work. i fully extended it and tried to retract. Sure enough this ladder is fussy about retracting. But I found that fully extending the ladder, and applying some silicone spray lubricant to the catch releases and to the part of the ladder that retracts made retracting easier. I did this three times and each time it got easier to collapse this ladder. Lubing with silicone spray occasionally is worth it to me because of this ladder's light weight and compact design. If you buy one of these ladders, make sure it extends and retracts properly before you have to rely on it for real work. If it's as fussy for you as it was for me, hit the sticky parts with household silicone spray (not WD-40). This worked for me. ... show more

Don’t be swayed by the cheaper ladders, I’ve ordered and used them all, and this one is the highest quality (safer) you’ll find for the price. The one-button release ladders aren’t so great because they must be extended from the bottom up (when used at different heights), and instead these telescopic ladders with a release button on every rung allows you to extend each rung from the top (much easier) and it will lock at your needed height. ... show more

So I think this product is great, I finally have a very compact extension ladder. It’s a heavy little chunker and it’s kind of awkward to extend and retract...maybe I’m just not good at it. This ladder is sturdy and feels safer at 15 ft than other ladders I have used. Collapsing makes this ladder easy to use indoors compared to stepladder. Just watch your fingers when you close it down or you’ll get pinched!
