  • Nice shoe
Size: 14 Color: Black
Just wore for a short time so far. I took the advice and ordered larger than my size. But, I wear a 12 USA size. I ordered a 14 USA. They fit perfectly. I was worried about the width, and these are fine. I did add an arch support. The shoe feels really good. I've worn work boots that come up the leg higher than these. But this show covers my ankle. And ankle support is important to me. And also important is the price. And I believe this is a good deal. ... show more

  • Stylish and functional work or play
Size: 13 Color: Black
Comfortable when worn for less than 8 hours; these boots are functional when worn in cooler weather or work conditions. Driving with them laced to the top is uncomfortable if you tie them like sneakers, but after you get the most comfortable lace pattern/tightness they are exceptionally easy to wear. ... show more

  • Expected yet unexpected
Size: 11 Color: Black
I bought this pair to replace a previous pair of the same brand (Cordura model) I purchased almost a year ago. I use these boots as my work boots and seeing as I work in a refrigerated environment (40°F avg.) I thought I would give the insulated model a try. As expected, fit was exactly the same and it should be as previous pair/model are made on the exact same footbed and overall shoe design, just different upper materials. Now, we get down to the nittt gritty...dry traction is not quite the same as the previous pair but pretty darn close. Compared to the previous pair, wet traction on the other hand (the non-slip advertisemnt) is non existent; it's as though the formula for the sole rubber has changed. Wether it has or not, I can not say for sure as I have not asked the manufacturer about it. By comparison to the previous pair, it's a night and day difference, I don't feel the grip and stability under foot when walking on the wet concrete (something I often have to do at work) and metal dock plates as the previous pair which seemed to grip with great tenacity in all the conditions I face at work daily. As I mentiined earlier, my work environment is refrigerated and my toes would get quite cold at times, hence why I opted for this "insulated" pair as my repacement. The manufacturer advertises that the insulation is effective at keeping one's feet warm down to -13°F...well, suffice it to say, these do not live up to that claim by a long shot, my toes are just as cold in this pair as they were in the previous pair. Am I going to return this pair....not just yet. They are comfortable and do seem to be quite water repellent (upper material) and not enough of an issue in the work environment at this time that I feel it's pertinent to do so. I just have to walk with more care than I normaly would when the floors are wet. In all honesty though, I am still debating on sending them back because I don't want to risk a "slip and fall" injury that could cost me in the long run. I have barely had them a week and only worn them to work 4 days. I'll give them till the end of the week and see if the "wet grip" changes any at all (maybe the sole needs to "break in"). My only other beef with the shoes (this is referring to the other pair and pretty much every other shoe brand out there)...why is the heel counter material so weak and thin? This area of just about every shoe on the market is the first spot to deteriorate in a shoe and it makes shoes uncomfortable and a pain to take off without one's heel catching on the material preventing the shoe coming off when wanted. A wedge shaped piece of high abrasion resistant material like Cordura for instance in this location would do wonders for the durability of the shoe. Is this instance enough of a deterrent to go back to this manufacturer again for another pair of shoes...I think not. This could just be a fluke, a one off instance but if any of the other styles offered by this manufacturer are like my first pair and offer up the same kind of traction as that pair had, i will definitely look to them for my next pair of hiking shoes/ boots. ... show more

  • It's not a work boot...
Size: 10.5 Color: Camouflage
If you're look for a boot to wear 8-10hrs a day to work in, this ain't your boot. Recommend paying a bit extra and getting the real deal. As for a hiking boot at a budget price, it's acceptable. Outta the box I knew where the rubber meets the shoe there would be/eventually be a leak for water to get to. Sure enuff at the heel there's a small place for water to seep through. A bit of flex seal should remedy that. Otherwise it's a good boot for the price. It is waterproof mostly and the thermal is decent. Stood in 4-6inches of 25 degree water for 1 minute with little to complain about. Yes the water will slowly seep in with the aforementioned fix but meh it's a budget boot. The comfort level is fine, broke in after a 2 mile hike. Depending on use though, I know that won't last too long with out throwing in some dr Scholes. After 10, 2 mile hikes through the forest, I think they're a good boot that will hopefully last at least a year. Also, i would get better laces, the stock laces are bottom dollar and come undone quickly w/o double knot. But again I wouldnt use as a work boot and I would reinforce the seems at the bottom with some flex seal or something. So far a decent hiking boot for a decent price. ... show more
