I’ve used these bags several times now, over a couple of years. Usually with a cider press, and more recently fermenting plum wine. I didn’t have a problem with the bag holding up the liquid. I was impressed with how well it worked for my primary fermentation-plan to use it again. Easy to use, and has been the perfect size for my needs. Stains easily, though, and just soaking in vinegar water (as recommended) doesn’t work. But it has held up quite well, and I give it 5 stars. Plan to get another one. ... show more

The bag did what it's supposed to do, it held the grain. But it also holds all the wort in as well. It is a very fine thread count and hard to pull out of the kettle as the wort doesn't drain from the bag. The product is very high quality made but I am currently looking for another bag as I can't doleal with that again. Haha. ... show more

I use this product for brew in a bag brewing and it is very efficient. When brewing with this bag I always beat my Beersmith starting gravity estimates which is great! The product also seems super strong as I have brewed a 10 pound grain bill in it and it was solid as a rock. You also can't beat the organic cotton in which the bag is made of because who wants off flavors and unsafe brews from sub standard brew bags. Buy this one you won't be disappointed. Now if only they would introduce a hop bag for sale in the future then all my brewing needs would me met! ... show more

I want to return it after using it. Xl size is way too big for my 2.5-6 gallon brews. If I were to need a bag this large for my hops, I’d have zero left for the mash. Unfortunately I used this for a Bohemian Pilsner and Hefeweizen partigyle. The inefficiency left me with OG’s of 1.041 and 1.038, well below targets of 1.049-1.058. It also took too long to filter our boiled apple musts for cider. We had to buy nylon bags. I like the bag, but I think cotton and the tight weave didn’t work at all for us. ... show more

Had issues using alternatives such as cheesecloth for cold brew as it never filtered out all the grounds. This bag is high thread count and easy to clean. Recommend if you’re looking to copy that Starbucks quality without using wasteful one use filters.

I've been brewing larger batches of cold brew (with 2.5 lb bags from the local warehouse store). Could easily fit double (or triple) in the bag. The mesh of the material is sufficiently fine enough to separate all the fine particles and most of the sludge from the water. After removing grounds I filtered through a very fine metal mesh coffee filter and barely caught any additional particles. ... show more

Used this bag for Homebrewing my mash. Just used it for the first time today. The bag looked good and was well made BUT it did not drain any liquid! The mash and wort were TRAPPED in this bag! It's too fine of a mesh and holds wort like a water balloon. DO NOT USE THIS FOR MASHING GRAINS. made in the USA so I'm happy I got to support a USA business but this bag was way too tight of a cotton weave for mashing grains. Very disappointed.
