Replaced the original rollers that after 8 years were creaky and noisy. As it turns out, one of the originals fell apart in my hand as I slipped it out of the track. Tells me 8 yrs. was probably a year or two on mfgr. OE-level quality rollers. This company has been producing roller bearings for a variety of industries, so with years of experience they are one of your best options for garage door rollers. You won't be disappointed.

The motor on the lift is loud compared to before. It really isn't... It's just that I can hear the motor running now. I used these to replace those old metal rollers and what a difference. I don't have insulated doors (yet) so the garage door doesn't have enough mass to be super quiet but these have made such a big difference. Super easy to install. The very bottom ones will require you to have a plan of attack. The garage door I replaced on has side springs so I was able to replace those while the garage door was open with zero tension on the spring. I also bought new brackets for the bottom ones. The old brackets did not have tubes to hold these rollers. It was the style that just has tabs with holes. I did grease up everything in excess including those new bottom brackets with tubes. Then I wiped clean all the excess grease. If you've got no tension on the lift springs when open, this is an easy project. If you have a center overhead spring, you need to be careful and plan ahead. Have the proper tools to prevent damage and possibly physical harm messing around with the bottom brackets.

Garage door maintenance is something most home owners neglect to do. I am one of those, though we have only lived in this house for 8 years. Had a coil break, so figured I would do the necessary maintenance to keep them running (have you priced garage doors of late?) while I replaced it. I replaced all 10 rollers in about 1.5 hours. The only tool I used was an socket wrench and a 7/16 socket. Why so long? Because I took 91% alcohol and cleaned the inside of the tracks and brackets from 19 years of 'stuff', dust, oil, grease and old wheel markings. The nylon roller with sealed bearings and a cover, should help keep them from becoming dirty internally for quite some time. Prior to inserting the roller shaft into the bracket, I applied a coat of a white lithium grease for even quieter operation and to reduce friction. Time will tell how they do, but the garage door is certainly quieter then before. I do recommend.
