Amplifier works well, however the antenna tuner is not as good at tuning as the ones built into the xiegu radios or the mfj auto tuner i have. With the tuner in my x6100 i can tune a 40m end fed to 1.1 on 30m this thing cant get it below 3.0 on the same antenna

I so hoped this would be a good amp. On the transmit side it actually is but while powered on and in-line between my antenna and radio it produces noise (receive side) on the HF bands. On the lower bands, it's about 1db of noise but when you get up to 10m and beyond the noise increases. On 6m it's probably about 3-4db of noise. I tried different power supplies and direct 12v dc. The noise is coming from inside of the amp. Probably from an internal noisy switching power supply. On the transmit side, it worked fine although I had to manualy switch bands with it and found the buttons cumbersome. I found the amount of noise unacceptable and returned the unit.

I came by a QRP G90 HF rig and have done well working stations with this device. After watching several reviews of this amplifier, it made sense to add the features and additional power capability to my mobile go-case with the G90. It was instant, seemless integration with his amplifier and the G90 - all the cables and devices were provided for the connections and it only required about 5 minutes to have everything together, then a double check, then on-the-air. It appears one can use this amplifier with other brand radios, but I have not tried to use my amplifier with another radio - the challenge would be to make sure the amplifier has a signal from your radio it is transmitting and it's not clear to me if the amplifier has auto transmit detection. I have a good existing SWR match on my various antennas at my QTH station, so I've not exercised the tuner feature of the Xiegu G90 Radio nor the same function in this XPA125B amplifier. If you have never had to integrate a radio and linear amplifier, it can require significant time and effort to ensure the connections are done properly and also if any firmware adjustments are needed. The XPA125B and the G90 were designed to work together, hence the straight forward connections and confidence the two devices are connected properly. I really like the size and weight of this amplifier. We'll see as time progresses, but this combination of Xiegu amp and HF radio appear to be a great selection for my mobile comms setup.

On antennas that the base G90 tunes easily, the XPA125B either fails to tune, or both fails to tune and throws an "ALC out of control" - or sometimes it tunes and still gives an "ALC out of control" error. It seems to work on 40m. Nothing higher, nothing lower. In its defense, it does look cool, and has an informative display. The interface CE-19 works as well as it should, albeit in a physical-configuration-challenged way.

Works great with the X6100 radio and L4001 cable. I have it connected to an end fed long wire. Been having lots of fun. The seller was great to deal with too. Just can't say enough. THANKS
