I bought this as 'used' but i don't see anything about it that is used, to me it looks brand new, so as far as I'm concerned I got a cracking deal on this. Works well, no issues. I got an Astatic D-104 power mike and used the mic converter cable that came with the radio.

Good CB/SSB radio overall, the only issue I have found is that the radio appears to have left the factory with power outout on AM as 7-8 watts dead key according to my meter (Which can't be that far off on readings). Hooked my amp up to the radio to see what it's dead key output would be and it does in fact over drive my amp, my amps dead key is the full power it's rated for (150 watts), so either I'll end up opening the radio and turning down the output or just run the amp on my old radio! ... show more

It’s easy to use. Lots of features. Works like it should. I bought it because it has SSB and I was able to make interstate contacts while the skip was rolling. Some people say the audio is low on AM however I was still able to talk to them. Maybe they should turn up the volume. I wish it had a Roger beep and finer adjustability in the RF gain. ... show more

I researched for a week before deciding to buy this one, and it does everything it says it can. After setting the SWR I found some people chatting on channel 38 lower sideband, and asked for a radio check. They told me I was loud and clear, and they were over 20 miles away from my location!! It was even better quality than I thought it was going to be, and I really love that it has 7 colors to choose from. Excellent little radio! Out of the box, the radio is far too dim in bright light. The radio needed extensive modifications to be useful. I changed the backlight diodes so I could see the darn thing. Dead key RF power was only 3.5 watts, and the VFO was off frequency.. The mod was only 70%. I also unlocked the clarifier so that it works with a 10k swing, in transmit AM and SSB. Now, it's a great radio. I use it with a Wilson 1000 mag mount antenna. I have made day and night contacts 100 miles AM day, over 200 LSB night. Basically, out of the box, it is a average mass-produced radio. ... show more
