Big touch display with waterfall, spectrum and oscilloscope with frequency and all important information on display. Easy to get to touch or button menu functionality with transmit and receive audio equalization for enhanced audio quality with a voodoo viewed bottlenecked 2.9 or 3khz I.F. bandwidth. But it’s just enough to sound good! If this rig could be firmware updated to lift this bandwidth restriction on the transmitter? Even if theres one in the I.F. strip I have to remove or change. Theres no standard protocol for bandwidth. The ears discern speech at 2.5khz where most cheap filters roll off! We are to use the spectrum for experiments as well as providing professional quality audio. It’s an enjoyable rig right out the box. The noise filter is adjustable as well as noise blanker but with strong signals must use minimally controlled settings on the blanker. For the sound on tx and rx though at the maximum i.f. bandwidth and found the best eq settings for ssb and am ragchew with the stock mic or a heil pro ic are: bass at flat and treble at +5. Each mode has a eq setting. The mic gain is however, is the same on all modes. Set this with the compressor at no more than about 15-17%. With the compressor on 10. Or no compressor and mic at 100%. It’s plenty loud! Very strong and fantastic audio reports with just 100w (an ol' amp helps at times when qsb is up, Ameritron AL1500 helps at times to go QRO) and a 43’ vertical mfj 1917 43ft mast with just 45ft of 22awg teflon wire with DX Engineering 4:1 unun.     • I never knew any transceiver could be so good.
The antenna tuner remembers the settings for each band after tuning. With my multiband antenna I go from band to band without returning. Excellent transceiver performance.
Reviewed in the United States on March 30, 2024 by BOB. I've just received 2 more chargers. we call them the "hot" chargers. they charge things really fast. They are made for the Raspberry pi and we have 2 running on them. Working great.
