This lil radio will surprise you ! Excellent receive, & transmit audio on am & rock solid on frequency on ssb on 11 meters / cb, so when people mention newer radios being noisier in receive end, they fail to mention newer radios that have the digital noise reduction built in, such as anttines newer models. Truckers may like rhe ease of old school knobs on radios , such as rhe overpriced full if white noise junk rangers they put out over last several years. These anytones need no tuning , they work great out of box. Do yourself a favor and forget the " max mod" nonsense upgrades , the radios that tens to sound best are the ones left alone ! radio swings 45 pep on am out of box, similar on ssb . no reason to change voltage regulators or other gimmicks to steal your money and maybe show 5 more watts. Save that for the truck stops. Buy this radio and enjoy it. Without fan blowing on it at base I talked for a good hour or so with few locals, radio got warm but not as much as u would think for its size, holds up very well. Been into radio over 4 decades, if you enjoy the quiet receive if the old cobra 148s, 2510, etc , buy this and set the nrc to level 3, the sweet spot before audio gets too digitized with the noise reduction and listen to how nice & quiet rqdio is without all that white noise. Good to see a co.oany using the latest technology , paired with a nice speaker this radio sounds hifi ! To those pissing the radio will not last 40 years like theyre old off frequency cobra 142, get iver yourself. Chances are tour iver 50 and will not be aroubd in 40 years anyhow. Get with the times. Its nice to try new radios every 5 or 10 years.anyhiw and my original quad 6 has over a Decade on it and still going strong, they last many years . Who would buy a cobra 29 when u can buy this for the same price roughly !? And the cobra does not have DNR , its a noisy receive on a radio living on a bygone report that no longer exists. Lastly, for those hams that will piss and moan its just an export, get over yourself. The Majority of of 36 through 38 lsb are all hams on theyre 7300s or 991a's, facts. Even they realized 11 meter is more fun than 10 meter and there is actually people to talk too. This lil radio runs a 4 pill on ssb quite nicely as well. This radio has good punchy audio with stock mic but a cheap enhancement is the k-po 532, pairs up very nicely and gives an audio enhancement. Very impressed with this little radio, love the anytone products, dont knock em to u try em ! This lil radios receive will run circles around those ranger 2990s with theyre white noise for quarter of price. These newer anytones are all i ever use, the cobra, the now out of business galaxy ( no shocker there ) and overpriced ranger garbage has no place in my base any longer. Hope this helos someone considering purchasing, trust me, well worth the very fair price . Thanks Anytone !

Feature rich is being modest! Now you will have to traverse menu's to do some fine tuning, but they threw every feature I had wanted in a small package together on this one. Mic is pretty good too and has a nice feel. Some setup is needed to get it the way *you want it, but just read the manual and check the *website for assistance. One setting that made me think I had a bad unit was the default setting for power off will leave the time and date screen up. I thought the thing just wouldn't shut off. It's in the menus and can be turned off so no battery drain issues Phew! I am pleased with this unit and looing forward to some DX from a small compact radio for SSB now without having to have a full size radio.

This radio is awesome very small great audio quality on frequency and no drifting out of the box and Anytone the company was great to deal with and looks after the customer, they had a delay in shipping and they were very responsive with the emails. Compares favorably with other radios in its class like the Anytone AT-6666PRO, but in a significantly lighter and smaller package. Covers 12 meter to 10 meter bands with modification ~ 25 watts peak transmit power. Stable in frequency, easy to use across modes (AM / FM / SSB) though I didn't yet try CW. Comes with USB to 8 pin modular programming adapter. The CPS (Windows programming software) has a couple bugs but is generally usable and would be easy for Anytone to fix. The receiver sensitivity is great. Can set autosquelch for AM/FM and regular squelch for SSB - handy when scanning channels. Two programmable "emergency" channels are a key feature. So far, I use it more than the Anytone AT-6666PRO as the AT-5000 has a good "feel" to operate and good quality receiver audio. The knob and up/down keys are swappable for volume and channel per user preference. Have been into CB radio for over 30 years and this is my favorite radio so far!

I like this radio a lot. This is the second one I bought. It is type accepted for CB as is out of the box and there is a way to get 10 m touching certain buttons when you turn it on. Online there is a modification for more power but right now I’m enjoying it just the way it is. The OEM packaging is really good for protecting the radio plus Amazon puts it in one of their paper brown cardboard envelope envelopes. Very happy and everything I’ve gotten from any tone is good.

Exactly what I had been waiting for. A small form factor radio that I can take with me on RV trips for POTA activations. If you are a licensed HAM this radio can be configured for 10M use! Finally a radio that supports SSB and in a small package. Great seller feedback. Shipment was held up in customs and they offered a small refund for the inconvenience. They did not have to do that. I'm enjoying learning all this radio has to offer.
