  • Great card, especially for someone who uses Linux and wants to get away from the "green" brand
Style: RX 6700 XT
I came from an RTX2080, and the brand associated with that card has terrible Linux support (and I was getting some weird bugs in Windows, too), especially after a recent driver update. That prompted me to look into AMD's offerings since as far as I'd heard, AMD has a perfect track record with Linux. I'm glad to see that this was in fact correct! It was as simple as swapping out the card, turning on my PC, and boom - good to go. You probably already have the Mesa packages installed from your distribution, but if not, you can easily install them or just simply use Flatpak apps which automatically installs Mesa for those apps. On the Windows side of things, I did have to install AMD's Adrenalin software, but it seems much nicer than GeForce Experience *and* didn't force me to create some account just to use it - major props to that. After a quick install of Adrenalin (you can install the drivers without it, if you want) just reboot, and you're good to go on the Windows side of things too. Games play excellent, and I can't say I've had a bad experience with any games as of far. Pretty much all of them play at Ultra/Extreme settings (however I will note I'm still on 1080p/60Hz screens, so take that with a grain of salt) with zero issues, even under Linux. My only gripe with this card is that I can't seem to find a way to change the "primary" monitor that the GPU considers. This means that during POST, my BIOS is displayed on the wrong monitor which wakes up a bit slower than my actual primary screen, so I have to remember to try to click the DEL/F12 button if I want to enter setup *before* it displays as usually by then its too late. Of course, in your actual operating system (Windows or Linux) you can just override the default display and its no problem once actually booted. So, regardless of whether you play games on Windows like most gamers out there, or if you're an adventurous gamer who is trying out Linux, then I would recommend this card. Great price, and great power instead of compromising on one side. ... show more

  • only had it for 1 day and so far so good.
Style: RX 6700 XT
For $379 this is a deal. Upgraded from a 980 TI. Every game has double my performance. Can run games at 4k but you have to adjust the settings if you want steady 60 fps. but 1080 well over 144 fps. This is technically a 1440p card. There is a bug with playing fornite where the frame rate is a bit choppy due to an issue with epic. Amd has apparently check everything on their side. But all other games i have tried no issues. will update after I have had this card for a while. 1 week update. this was my first AMD card. I did have some crashes on games like modern warfare/ cold war/ and the division 2. But after updating and tweaking settings the crashes are no longer happening. Update to the optional newest driver. I also used the auto undervolted option on amd software so the card use less power. that seemed to help. runs about 75 degrees Celsius in my case. I do not have the best fans in my case they produce barely enough airflow. As far a fornite goes if you turn all settings up to epic except ambient collusion (leave this on performace) and keep raytracing off then stay in the menu for 5 mins to let the shaders build the first time you play. The frame rate seems to smooth out properly. Every time you make changes to the effects setting or post processing give time for the shaders to update. So all in all after tweaking settings and updating games the card is still running great on all my games. If you dont mind playing with settings and ray tracing does not matter to you. The 6700 is the better value if you can get it around that $379 price point which is the same cost as the cheapest 3060 at this time. ... show more

  • Crashes a lot. Read more if you're wondering how to redeem your game
Style: RX 6700 XT
UPDATE 2: My games still kept crashing, so I ended up upgrading both my motherboard and CPU. Everything works great now. I upgraded to the Ryzen 9 5900X. So the moral of all of this, make sure you have a CPU and PSU that can handle this, and it should work fine. UPDATE: After upgrading my PSU to 1000w from 600w, I can run Starfield on High quality without any crashing. It did crash once after I installed the new PSU, but I tweaked some of the settings in the Radeon Adrenaline software, and it seemed to do the trick. I do get quite a bit of screen tearing, which is disappointing. It got better after I turned off HDR. BG3 runs great in Ultra quality mode. No issues there. Honestly, I wish I would have gotten a better card, but my CPU and motherboard are a few years older, and I think if I were to go any higher, I'd end up rebuilding the whole computer. As it is, I already had to buy a new SSD for Starfield, this GPU, and a new PSU. ORIGINAL: I bought this because BG3 was pushing my system to the limit, and I wanted Starfield. BG3 looks like a brand new game. The upgrade took it to a whole new level with graphics. But now it crashes. A lot. Same with Starfield. What's weird is there is no lag or screen tearing or anything that would make me think that it's getting ready to crash. I'll be moving along fine, and then boom! the game has closed. My PSU is a 600W. Based off of another review, I'm going to upgrade to 1000w to see if that helps. If not, I'll be returning this. I'll update when it comes in. If you're like me, you're wondering how to redeem the free game you get with this purchase. It took about 48 hours after I received the card before I got an email from Amazon with my coupon code. Prior to that, there was nothing that said when or how I should be receiving it. So rest assured, when you purchase it, you will eventually get your email telling you how to get the game. ... show more

  • Great GPU for a great price
Style: RX 6700 XT
If you're in the market for a graphics card that delivers strong gaming performance without breaking the bank, the AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT is a compelling choice. Striking a balance between power and affordability, this GPU is a standout option for gamers seeking high frame rates and detailed visuals. The RX 6700 XT excels in delivering smooth gaming experiences across a wide range of titles. Equipped with 12GB of GDDR6 memory and built on AMD’s RDNA 2 architecture, it’s designed to handle modern games with ease. In practical terms, this translates to impressive frame rates at 1440p resolution, making it ideal for those who game at this popular resolution. I feel no need to upgrade while AMD is in the 7000 series and this should take me at least to the 8000 series before I will really see any need to upgrade. I do not struggle with fps performance on any game in my library and I am playing the most current titles on high settings. This particular model has never given me any issues and always plays nicely with driver updates. ... show more

Style: RX 6700 XT
I purchased this card and while it’s a great card, my monitors were integrated with gsync which this card does not support so I had to return it and purchase a new one but Amazon takes 2 weeks and sometimes more to give you money back. • Solid Radeon RX 6700 XT at a Good Price
Style: RX 6700 XT
I purchased the XFX Speedster SWFT309 AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT in Dec 2022 for $360 as a replacement for an RX 580. I think this is a solid choice to get 6700 XT performance, at a good price, in a card that looks good. I've only had the card for a few days but it has lived up to expectations so far. In game play the 6700 XT is performing as you would expect giving me FPS ~3x what my RX 580 did. The card is quiet even under load and I haven't noticed any additional noise to my case fans, CPU cooler fan, and PSU fan. The card also runs reasonably cool. While gaming I'm running avg utilization of 75% and getting avg GPU temp of 70C and avg hotspot temp of 82C. When running 90%-100% utilization the GPU temp is 68C-73C and the hotspot temp is 80C-90C. I've read the 6700 XT doesn't throttle until the hotspot temp hits 110C so I doubt I will push this card hard enough to get it to throttle or to damage the chips. Of course my case has good airflow with 2 intake fans and 3 exhaust fans, so your results may vary. ... show more

  • So far so good RX 6700 XT
Style: RX 6700 XT
I’m a long time Nvidia user but am tired with Nvidia’s practices and pricing making even mid grade gpus mostly unattainable for the common gamer. I opted to go with the XFX RX 6700 XT because of the performance (RTX 3070 performance) and pricing of $390 which was about $70 cheaper than the cheapest RTX 3060ti. (Zotac RTX 3060ti $460) also having 12gb of vram will sustain gaming on this card for years to come unlike Nvidia with their measly 8gb of vram on the 3060ti and 3070s. I will say that I did have an issue initially with AMD drivers causing video playback lag on YouTube and mouse lag on the desktop and chromium based apps. But after a clean install of windows 10 I haven’t experienced any of those issues. (I did initially use DDU in safe mode to uninstall the Nvidia drivers that were originally on my computer.) Gaming performance is absolutely amazing. Have is paired with a Ryzen 5 3600x currently playing games on ultra at 1080p getting well above 200fps in most all games. I do plan on going 1440p soon. AMD Adrenaline is a million times better than Nvidia’s sad control panel and GeForce Experience. At this time there is nothing that Nvidia has that AMD doesn’t aside from better ray tracing but as I don’t use ray tracing it’s not a loss for me. All in all I recommend any one of these gpus for gamers looking for an upgrade. ... show more
