I bought an Dell Optiplex with a gen four i7 to see if it could game and with the research I did, and owning and using a gen two i7 for over 12 years on a laptop and knew what it could do, this seemed like a great option to for a streaming PC that can also double as a emulation machine since the gen four i7 can still do a lot of work. I will say for current gen games in 2023, the gen four i7 is where the cutoff should be but that is where this card comes in. The RX 6400 has 4GB of DDR6 VRAM with features some games like, such as Raytracing. With the testing I have done, gaming is good at decent setting. Your bottleneck may be different depending on what you throw this card in so if you are using a older i5, the CPU may be your bottleneck but if you're looking to build a budget gaming computer and dont want a console, buying a older Optiplex or Pavilion with a decent CPU and adding this card to it should work. It gets its power from the PCIe lane and not the power supply so you wont need to run more cable and its small form makes it good for small form factor computers, which is good because it comes with the bracket to replace the standard pre-installed, though it can be tedious to replace since you need to undo like six or eight screws. Either way, this card isnt being scalped which makes it a great buy. I do feel the 150 I paid was a bit much since there was little demand for these kind of cards but for what you get, I'm not upset. I now have a competent gaming computer using a older 4770 with this card added. Take care and happy gaming!

I am glad that I decided to try this graphics card instead of my previous Aero Itx 1630. I decided to uninstall the previous software and drivers as well as reboot prior to installing the new graphics card. Once the computer was back up and I was in Windows, I went to AMD's website and looked up the Adrenaline download for this version of AMD Radeon card. I installed it and rebooted again. I registered my card on the XFX website and then went to the AMD website and entered the information for the promotional game that Amazon emailed to me. I was prompted to download a product verification utility and once it verified the graphics card I was prompted to logon to Steam to download the game. I now launch games from the AMD Adrenaline dashboard and the passthrough opens the game through Steam. It also helps optimize the game to eliminate any lag, if any. This was important for me because of the age of the desktop which is an AM3+ motherboard by AS Rock ( 970A - G / 3.1 ) with an AMD FX- 8350 processor, 32 GB Ram, an SSD by PNY for OS boot and an additional SSD for dowloaded games from Steam. This older platform is PCIe 2.0 x16 versus the newer PCIe 4.0 and I know that I will need to upgrade at sometime in the near future but not just yet. I tested Mortal Kombat 11, XL, Komplete Edition and Tekken 7 and the gameplay was a great improvement over my previous GPU. I have also uploaded a photo from my Benchmark test using SuperPosition and a photo of the graphics card information yielded from using TechPowerUp GPU-Z. This purchase is definitely worth the extra $10 dollars that I spent that was above the cost of the previous card. This is also the first time that I have tried an XFX Graphics Card. It definitely will not be my last. If you have been a little nervous with the notion of trying an AMD versus an NVidia graphics card, I would say .... do not be afraid to try something new. The whole process from installation to gameplay took me under an hour and I just take my time in order to avoid problems. I also wanted to make sure that I mention that this card does not require any additional power from a 6 or 8 pin connector or the installation of a larger wattage power supply. The graphics card comes with the low profile bracket in case you plan to install it in a small form factor desktop as opposed to the full height used in Mini, Mid and Full Tower installations.

This review is specifically for the SWFT105 / RX 6400 card only. As other reviewers have mentioned, this card comes with the full-height bracket installed, and I would suspect most of us bought this to use the half-height bracket. It is a very tedious task (especially with the tiny screws) to change the bracket, with 10! screws required to be removed (which includes the shroud needing to be removed) in order to switch out the bracket. Some engineer did not think this through very well...

Fits perfectly on the HP M01-F3214 without the need to upgrade the power supply unit as the PSU on this is proprietary and hard/expensive to upgrade. Plug and play into the PSI slot without any other connections needed. One advice is not to download and update the driver. Updating ends up only accessing the log in and desktop but unable to open anything else, including the settings. Had to reboot into safe mode and reset to a previous saved backup and decided not to download and update the driver. Works well! If you need a budget graphics/video card for something like an office PC such as the HP or Dell, get this one. Sure, it won't run 4k graphics, but I only need it for specific low-end gaming.

As far as I know, this is the best half height, single slot GPU that you can get currently, and I highly recommend it if you have size constraints. This one is easy to use, and the drivers are available online. Worth the money! No fan noise problems, performs as expected, it seems to have been built of a good quality.

11-18-23 Another FYI UPDATE concerning these 4 XFX damaged RX 6400 graphics cards. The fact that Amazon no longer sells the XFX RX 6400 might reveal a problem with this XFX product line? I have noticed with other US retailers also do not sell this XFX product any longer. Maybe this will change later? Within the US, graphics cards are at high saturation levels. The XFX RX 6400 has every reason to still be valuable and still for sale because of price and that it is suppose to be better than the run-of-mill office computer graphics cards such as the GT710 type graphics card. I've worked on/with computers for decades and I notice these trends and how the trends can translate to real world data. Since there is no longer a graphics card shortage then this GPU should still be readily available unless there is a problem with this particular graphics card and/or company. I filed a case against XFX with the BBB. It went nowhere because XFX stopped communicating with the BBB which resulted with my case was closed by the BBB. Please keep this in mind when considering purchasing any XFX product. Be sure to realize the difference between 'sold and shipped by Amazon' and sold by a seller using Amazon even if the item is NEW. You have a better chance of actually having a defective warranty claim being honored it your item is sold and shipped by Amazon. UPDATE - This is a FYI when purchasing XFX products from the Amazon website. Amazon has increasingly moved purchases to third party seller. I will cut and paste what XFX claims is not covered by their limited hardware warranty? This is XFX's Warranty Coverage from the XFX Website. I used "" to denote XFX's statement: "" This limited hardware warranty does not cover: - Products that are not from an authorized reseller. Products purchased used from Ebay, Craiglist, a person to person transaction, or similar methods carry NO Warranty. For a list of Authorized resellers visit the Where to Buy section of this website. NOTE: 3rd party marketplace vendors at sites such as Amazon and Newegg are often not Authorized Retailers, items must be both "shipped and sold" by Amazon, Newegg, or corresponding retailer to be considered an Authorized Retailer, "" This means that if you purchase a XFX product that is not directly shipped and sold by Amazon then YOU OFTEN DO NOT have Warranty Coverage according to XFX. Actually, by US consumer law, the warranty follows the product purchased within the US and not the place of purchase - period! By US law all a consumer has to do is contact the manufacturer during the warranty period and tell them their product is defective. XFX is ignoring to accept any images of the defective RX 6400 I am attempting to RMA. It seems that XFX's plan is to Stop the warranty image and therefore Stop the warranty process. XFX is requiring me to setup a third party account with an online image service. XFX is violating US Warranty Law by adding extra steps to start a defective warranty return. XFX further violates US Warranty Law by requiring their customers to pay for return shipping during the warranty period. XFX was once a customer oriented company where I purchased many XFX products. I will attempt to get XFX to come to this exact product review page to actually see the defective GPU. ** This is a follow-up review for this XFX 6400 graphics card. This GPU is still under XFX's warranty period and it has quit working. I contacted XFX to warranty replace or refund the cost. To date I have not heard back from XFX at all. I was a very big supporter of XFX products prior to these 4 units from XFX arriving defective and eventually one(so far) has quit working. I will update this review when new information becomes available. BTW - Thank You Amazon for taking care of all defective graphics cards. I purchased Four(4) XFX 6400 graphics cards and ALL Four(4) came in with badly bent brackets. The included picture does not really show how bad the bracket was bent and they were ALL bent. It may seem like the simple solution was to straighten these brackets, but all the major "bends" were at the point the bracket screw attached to the GPU circuit board(PCB). The force needed to straighten them could very likely break/crack the circuit board (PCB). To remove the bracket and straighten it would void the warranty because the card had to be completely disassembled due to the shroud blocking one(1) bracket screw. The graphics cards were in no way damaged during shipping and the boxes were in pristine and undamaged condition. This means that XFX shipped these 4 GPUs in broken condition. Normally, my favorite graphics card brand is XFX and I own several other XFX models, but now that I have experienced Four(4) XFX cards that obviously had zero "quality control" before they left the factory, makes me re-think my long-held favorable opinion about XFX. I could only give one-star ratings due to the fact that I was unable to thoroughly test these defective XFX cards. Thank You Amazon rep. Alexandrea for your help!

No fault of MemoryC who sold it. But this gpu did not work with linux on dell optiplex 3050. Fan cut off after or around 60 seconds. It SHOULD have worked, though. Two different AI's told me it was a faulty card if the fan kept cutting off. The return was super easy and fast. To the other commenters complaining about how long it takes to receive and return items...it is stated in their agreements that returns could take 30 days. The products are not coming from amazon. And some of the products you order could be coming from outside the US.The representative at memoryC answered the phone both times I called and responded to my email question the very next day. My money was returned the next business day after they received the item. I have no complaints. I took a chance on XFX gpu to save a hundred dollars but still put a higher quality gpu in my computer. That's on me. But all I know is I put another Radeon RX GPU just one version down in this computer and it is running fine.

Pros: Cheaper than a new LP 10 or 16 series card, lower power consumption as well. Lightweight but solid construction, no worries of damaging the PCIE slot or card in transit if it must be moved. Cons: Frustrating amount of fiddly screws just to change to the LP bracket. The fan is tiny and whiny at full speed, which it almost always is when doing any gaming. Only 4 PCIE lanes, you are losing performance if your machine isn't using PCIE gen 4. My biggest complaint: This card uses a maximum of 43 watts (according to Radeon monitoring software) at 100% utilization... which it always is, being the bottleneck in the old HP office PC with a i5 6500 it runs in. The unfortunate thing is this: even with the side panel off and running as a open bench, the card is hitting over 85°c with an ambient temp of 23°. With the side panel closed, it hits 95° or more, with the fan at 100% in either scenario. Again, it whines as well. The heatsink is just too little. The PCB gets hot enough to burn you, and it stank of melting plastic when it warmed up for the first week of use. This XFX model loses the bracket-side intake when swapped, as there's no vent holes in the LP bracket. Probably isn't helping the heat buildup. I have since learned that the Saphire LP version of this card has roughly double the weight in heat sink, and it doesn't have a constricted intake with either bracket on. I have the Saphire card on the way, and will be returning this one if I can fit the new card in the same system and get lower temps. It is only half an inch longer. Edit 10/19/2022: I have now bought and installed two Saphire LP RX 6400's in both the original system mentioned above, and a second VERY SFF HP office pc with another i5 6500. Both Saphire cards run quietly and cooler at the same 23° ambient temp, neither going over 80° at max load in their small cases. I cannot express how much more I recommend the Saphire card if you are in need of a small LP version, seeing as it is only a ½ inch or ~1 centimeter longer. Also tried the Gigabyte LP version. It was too long to fit in either SFF case without unplugging other necessary motherboard cables. The Gigabyte version has an even larger heatsink and 2 fans, which is nice. However, it has no attachment points for the LP bracket to join the PCB, except via the screws into the DisplayPort and the HDMI port. Another review on the Gigabyte card reflects this as well, but I hoped it was incorrect. This is a terrible design for such a heft card, sure to result in snapping the display out ports off the PCB if the case is moved too roughly too many times. So, all in all: I would say the XFX card is not a great purchase, even in the most tight SFF cases. The marginally larger Saphire card is cooled much better, while being just as rugged as the XFX card. I hope XFX sees this review and troubleshoots the XFX cooler design for better cooling performance. Being the cheapest IAB option of this GPU, it COULD have been the best value, balancing size and performance. Unfortunately, it is a poor option overall. Consider the Saphire card, though slightly more expensive, I believe the superior value product... ...if you *must* have a LP card with 4GB of VRAM, that doesn't require more power than the PCIE slot can provide. If you can get ANY other card to work in your build at a better price, you are going to get a better value than the 6400 due to the compromises AMD made. If this wasn't exactly what I needed, I would have used literally anything else for better price to performance.
