I was skeptical to purchase this because of other after market reviews. Yes you have to drill some holes. They are pre-marked. Drilling was simple and easy. The seat lined up perfect. The only modification I made was purchased a 1 sqft piece of 16 gauge steel for $9 at the Hdepot. This I used to reinforce the inside base. I saw suggestions to buy the $50 pre drilled piece of metal but momma ain't raise a dummy. So far I'm thrilled with it. All in $303. It's not a Harley product also not the $1k price tag. It's built sturdy in my opinion. I'll check back in a few months with an update. Additionally, to cover my rear I purchased the allstate insurance for $34. The web page description does not indicate that speaker holes and antenna hole had been cut into this trunk. Also the pictures do not indicate these holes. I messaged them but the item had already shipped. I sent item back and was refunded all I had been charged. They advised it would be about a month before the one I wanted would come in. The box looked fantastic and seemed to be of reasonable quality but back it went. I will update when I get another one. ... show more

Ok for the price I guess. It looks great on the bike but the latch fell apart the first 100 miles of having it on. Contacted customer service and the sent a new latch however that was a month ago and I have a tracking number but that's taking longer to get then the trunk itself.

For the price you can't beat it. Latches and lid tether may not last but time will tell. No mounting hardware were sent to mount the trunk to the rack or the backrest. Shipping was fast and item was packaged well.

Outside view of the product was great and had a great look. After opening the lid you could tell the inside was made as an after thought. The inside Matt was not cut out properly to meet up with the tether box. The quality of the latch securing the top was not sturdy resulting in the box flying open and ripping off on the highway (yes I did make sure it was closed). Unless I can guarantee the latches are secure I would not ride with this pack stock. ... show more

I guess you get what you pay for. I had to buy a metal plate for the bottom of the pak. Have to drill the holes for the back rest. But, it is cheaper then a Harley brand!
