  • one word: WOW! with caveats
Style: Wireless
I finally bought this headset after looking for so many brands, reading countless reviews... and the only thing i can say is: WOW! (in the sound department). Sound: Without EQing your phone, laptop or console sounds very very good, when you EQ it sounds even better but when Dolby Atmos gets in the way... prepare to be mindblown! I did not know that a wireless headset could sound that good! VERY well-balanced between the mid-lo and lo frequencies! But i have to admit: i was watching the walking dead and i was so immersed on the show that when my cousin touched my shoulder to pay her attention (i didn't know she was behind me and i didn't hear her calling me) i almost had a heart attack ahhahaahh i literally jumped up the roof! and after that, the sounds are so specific-placed that sometimes i was like "ok, was this here within the show or outside?"... just WOW! i love this headset! Construction: The headset itself it's well constructed, kinda sturdy, but when using it a lot it starts to have some creaking sounds due to the use (i presume). However, i have witnessed this kind of creaking sounds in other headsets as well so i'm use to it, not new for me. Also, when you accidentally touch the headset with something (cord of your cellphone bringing over your head from the other side, when tweaking the volume, etc.), the plastic structure of the headset makes a major sound that may disrupt to the user, i'm also use to this because i've been dealing with this issue since the pulse (the 99$ version from ps3 back in the day). Design: The headset have limited reach for big heads like me, so part of the faux leather reaching almost 1/4 my ears because the expanding band is short and i have to kind of accomodate the headset so i can hear perfectly every sound... Each time i'm putting it on, i'm like 30 seconds fitting into my head but that's ok, it's worth it! One major flaw that i encountered is how short the mic is! at first i tried to stretch it but apparently it's fixed onto one place. However, you can move it out or up and down but that's it! Microphone quality: According to the people who heard me, they did hear me pretty well, regular with standard sound, not much bass nor treble. I also tried it on pc and it does sound like that, it doesn't sound like you are inside a box (lack of lo and mid-lo, much hi and mid-hi). It does sound properly, BUT it doesn't have much of noise cancellation so if you have too much noise in your environment, people may hear it. Battery: Well i gotta admit that sometimes i'm going like 12 or 13 hour-straight of gaming. It does hold up to the task but sometimes it feels like it doesn't. From what i've seen it might be because of volume? That's the only theory that i'm having for now but generally, when i stop playing i immediately put to charge because i drain the battery because long gaming sessions. No issues here (thank god! i love cordless at this point!) Dual-connection: this is the second godsend! having a cellphone connected additionally, you can pick up calls or use discord and play at the same time! (mind you, that i have discord also on the xbox but sometimes for some reason it doesn't work on the console)... i can also hear music that i have in my phone and calls!... i absolutely love this function! and it's so easy to pair the second device! Another thing that's good is the fact that as soon as you turn it on, it automatically connects on both previously paired devices, this is a win for me! Conclusion: IF you are willing to these trade-offs priorizing sound, i can almost asure you that you won't regret! For the price it does the job, but you will have to keep in mind that you may witness the caveats i'm having on a daily basis when you will be using it on a daily basis as well. Keep in mind that this headset is relatively cheap and if you're looking for a sturdy, heavy-duty and very well-constructed headset, this may not be for you but if you are willing to deal with all the things i put above, prioritizing sound, i promise you, it won't disappoint you! ... show more

UPDATE: These wireless headphones are working much better now with a more recent update. I was experiencing frequent but very brief audio dropouts before the update, but it seems like the latest update has addressed this issue. If you are experiencing any audio issues, try updating the headset using the Xbox accessories app on your console. The headset has experienced little to no issues since the update, and I'm very pleased with how they function, how they sound, and how they feel to wear. Original review follows: I bought these because I got tired of using my CloudX Flight headset dongle. I liked that these connect directly to the console like a controller. Comparing these to the CloudX, the sound is so much better. There's serious bass to this thing, unlike the CloudX which sounds weak and flabby in the low end. It also feels sturdier. I love the convenience of connecting it without a dongle. As for fit, I liked the CloudX much more. This one is very tight on my head, but fortunately the ear cups are soft. It doesn't shift around on my head like the CloudX does, so I guess that's the trade-off. But there is one serious flaw that I can't seem to get around. The audio drops out intermittently. After around 15-20 minutes of use, the audio will start to drop out for a very brief moment, around a fraction of a second. This occurs about once a minute, and it grows to be very, very annoying and tiresome quickly. I use these for online gaming, and having my friend's voices or game audio drop out this frequently is driving me nuts. I'm sitting about 7 feet from the console with direct line of sight, nothing blocking the signal from my console to my headphones. The router isn't nearby, either, so I don't know what could be causing it. Turning it off and back on doesn't help either. The only solution is to turn the headset and console off and back on, which fixes the problem for about 15 minutes, then it's back to the frequent audio drops. I love everything else about this headset, but the annoying audio drops are really ruining an otherwise great product. If I find a solution, I will update this review. ... show more

Love this headset. My previous headset was a HyperX Cloud II, which I bought because it was so highly reviewed. It had many issues, so I spent a ton of time researching before buying this one. Pros: -Wireless with no noticeable lag. Could not believe there wasn’t some type of noticeable latency -Comfort. I’ve not once thought to myself “man, these are uncomfortable, my head hurts, my ears are worn out” etc -Audio quality. The sound on these is great for the price point. No complaints here. -Mic quality. My friends are SUPER picky about mics. Whether it’s echos, ambient noise, feedback, whatever, they lose their minds. They haven’t complained once while playing, and they have said it sounds good. -Battery life. No complaints. Haven’t had them die yet. Cons: None that I can find Genuinely impressed with this. We’ll see how long it holds up. I’m a buy once cry once guy when it comes to gaming, so I hope these hold up for years to come. I appreciate that they work similarly to a controller, meaning turning the headset on will turn on the xbox (and TV if you have your CEC set up to allow the xbox to control the TV). It’s a 10/10 from me. Miles above the HyperX headset I had before this. ... show more

  • 2+ year review
Style: Wireless
Awesome headset. Sound is great, especially if you use better sound protocols like Dolby etc. Even plain stereo is very good. Radio has cut out a rarely, but I think that's more due to general interference. Fits great, comfortable and the cups are still in great condition The mic however is annoying. After a while it would not stay in the same place as the arm strength weakened considerably. Eventually the mic piece at the end broke off for no reason (literally no touching.) Then the arm itself just broke off completely - albeit after 2+ years of heavy use. Ok - taped to the side of headset out of the way, but the wires managed to keep pushing the mute button every few seconds. It beeps each time, interrupting the audio. It lost a star because you can't just remove the arm like other quality headsets. This headset would be hands down the best of you could remove the mic. I would buy again. ... show more

Great headset. I use it almost daily, and it is still in great condition. I love that I can connect it to both my xbox and phone at the same time. It has adjustable volume control on the headset itself and you can pick if the game volume is louder than the people you are in a party with. Great quality, however it is a little heavy. ... show more

  • The voices....
Style: Wireless
Rating: 5/5 Stars (The audio clarity is divine, even if the commentary is concerningly specific.) Let me be perfectly clear: the audio on this Xbox Wireless Headset is phenomenal. The spatial sound is so immersive I can pinpoint a foe breathing two rooms away in Call of Duty and hear a pin drop in the digital forest. However, there's a feature I don't recall seeing on the box, and it's starting to dominate my life: The Great Upholstery Consensus. It turns out the earcups aren't just memory foam; they're apparently a direct psychic link to the collective consciousness of every couch, sofa, and Ottoman in my general vicinity. They started out subtle, giving me solid tactical advice, like "Mikey, check the six o'clock, that shrub is moving," or "Maybe put down the controller and walk the Maltese." (That last one was probably Daisy's doing.) But now the conversations have... evolved. I was mid-dungeon-crawl when the velvety material pressed against my temples started demanding I perform acts of escalating weirdness. The most recent, and most persistent, suggestion is as follows: "Mikey, my sweet, sweet human. You must smear apricot jam—not jelly, jam—on your toes, and then, you must allow the kind people experiencing homelessness to lick it off, as a gesture of communal harmony." I tried to ignore it. I told them they were being ridiculous. I even adjusted the volume dial. But the sound quality is so good, the couches' argument about the optimal viscosity of the jam, and the most ergonomically appropriate way for this public service to be performed, is crystal clear. I hear every nuance of their padded, fiber-filled conviction. Pros: Exceptional Sound: Seriously, great for gaming and hearing the detailed murmurings of household furniture. Comfortable: I can wear them for hours while agonizing over my toe-jam dilemma. Intuitive Controls: Easy to adjust the volume and balance, but sadly, there's no "Mute All Upholstery" button. Cons: Psychic Connection to Couches: They are extremely judgmental about my choice of footwear and now demand I commit to the fruit-preserving, foot-licking philanthropy. Constant Jam Pressure: I now see apricot jam everywhere and feel a profound, existential guilt. If you want the absolute best-sounding, most comfortable wireless headset for your Xbox, look no further. Just be prepared to either wear socks permanently or start carrying a jar of apricot jam and a small sign that says "Ask me about my toes." Deeply Recommended, but please, send help (and maybe a new set of earcups). ... show more

  • I definitely recommend these!!!
Style: Wireless
So, I'm not an avid gamer by any means. I recently got an Xbox Series S and it came with the wired headset, but I kept getting the wire all wrapped around my hand or I would pull it out while trying to put my controller down and go into the other room. It got very annoying very fast. I did research on headsets for a couple weeks. I didn't want to spend unnecessary money on an expensive pair that I wasn't actually happy with or had features I really didn't need. The main features I was looking for in a headset were: wireless, simultaneous Bluetooth and mic monitoring. Nothing fancy at all. I have to say it was incredibly hard to find more than a few headsets that had simultaneous Bluetooth connection so that I could listen to music or take phone calls while I was also gaming and hearing the audio from that. When I saw these did it, I was really excited and thought it was a better option than shelling out more money for some higher tier headsets like the SS Arctis 9X or TBs. I read too many mixed reviews about those, where the negatives were just too worrisome for me to really consider getting them. I did see mixed reviews for these, but I took the risk since they are not as expensive and I figured I'll just try to be extra gentle when handling them. So far, these are definitely what I needed and wanted! The simultaneous Bluetooth is a huge win for me. A friend of mine doesn't have a headset, so we just talk on a phone call while we game, but I'm absolutely still able to hear the audio from whatever game I'm playing. There's also an in-game chat mixer built in, just rotate the outer part of the left ear cup to adjust as needed. Volume adjusting is the right side ear cup. The ear cups feel very comfortable. It's some type of memory foam. I haven't noticed any sort of discomfort unless I play for 6+ hours straight and that happens rarely and I really only think that's due to the fact that I wear glasses. The head band also is comfortable for the most part. I would say that I do start to notice a bit of discomfort after a few hours. I don't really mind this, as I usually just slightly adjust it forward or back or my head once in a while. Not a big deal for me, though. The only thing I don't really like is the placement of the microphone mute button... all the way on the back of left ear cup on the mic piece. It's not on the mic itself, but the arm of it, which also could be a bit longer in my opinion. Sometimes I worry I'm not close enough to it for it to clearly pick up my voice, but luckily the mic monitoring does help me to know how loud or quiet I am and if the other people can hear me. Altogether I'm very happy with these and I'll try to give an update to my review after 6+ months of use. ... show more

  • Easily the best headset I've ever bought. Easily the best headset I've ever bought.
Style: Wireless
Sounds quality is phenomenal!! The coolest thing is that you can twist the circle side piece to adjust the volume! The headband is super comfy! Look at how thicc it is!! You don't need an adapter first of all. Guess how you pair it... If you have an Xbox console (which most likely you do if you're buying an Xbox branded one, but I won't judge) it's literally the same as pairing a controller! Yep. Hold the power button, and the pair button on the console. The console will do a little light show (Xbox logo flickers) and then viola! They sync up! Once they're paired, you can use the power button on the headset to turn on your console! Just like how you can with a controller! Also it is adjustable!! Fellow big headed people, rejoice! Honestly it's a great deal, and since it's the official Xbox headset, I bet it gets plenty of support. I've seen two updates since I've had it! (Your console will let you know!) My only problem is that it's way better than my old one that's wired. I guess he'll get allocated to my Switch for now. This one being cord free is amazing. If I need to grab a drink, while in a game, I can do so without taking my controller with me. Brilliant! Oh it charges via Type C! Most likely you probably already have a device that uses it, but it did come with it's own cord! The mic sounds great, and it lights up. You can easily turn it off via a button on the mic piece. It'll light up white on the tip to let you know it's on, and the arm to the mic is bendable. Unlike some headsets that have a stiff plastic piece. Idk what else to add, other than that if you can snag one without scalper prices, I would highly recommend. If you hate it, I'm sorry. I think you will love it though! To be clear, anything above msrp ($99.99 usd) is scalper prices. Do as you wish, I just don't want to support them. I'm thankful to of been able to preorder mine. The quality is nice, especially for the msrp price! It feels like a great value. Thanks for reading! I hope you found this review helpful! 😊 ... show more
