Wow, this is a great controller. It feels great in the hands, has nice "clicky-ness," and the control-sticks are accurate. I always use this controller connected to a USB port, so I can't judge its wireless/battery capacity or performance. I use on steam and GOG and it works great on both. Auto connects and functions as intended. I wish it had some sort of battery indicator. It hasn't died on my after using for hours, but I haven't seen any indicators for battery level either, unless I'm missing it.

At first I was thinking about getting one of the cheap copies on Amazon but saw a couple reviews showing that they would sometimes come up with an error about being incompatible. This one took a little longer to receive but I would rather it work as it does. This doesn’t come with a battery pack though so if you want to use it as wireless either get the battery pack or some batteries. I am using it wired without batteries which is fine. ... show more

    • What’s it got and how does it perform…

This is my first controller of this specific model. So this review is given with that criteria in mind. I have used a lot of controllers dating back to the Atari Paddle to joysticks, Nintendo brand, Playstation brand, mini controllers, and the Xbox 360 controller. This is… ok, but I feel that it’s a bit small for adult hands compared to other controllers that I have used. It isn’t horrible, but prolonged play might aggravate my arthritis. I will see in time- I only just received is and connected it to my iPad M5 13”. The box contained a controller, USB to USB-C cable, manual… and nothing else. I was under the impression that I would be receiving either 2 AA batteries or a battery pack (presumably rechargeable), but no. I will concede that the product page does not say that batteries are included, BUT it doesn’t say that batteries are required, either. Fortunately, I keep a surplus of common batteries, but I wasn’t expecting to need them for this. One other thing that I was unclear on was that the cable provided apparently DOES NOT charge a rechargeable battery pack. It is only for a wired connection, but my thought is: why would you buy a wireless controller for a wired connection? Ironic, right!? As such, I strongly recommend Amazon update the product page to make it perfectly clear whether the prospective buyer needs to buy batteries and what kind as well as suggest options to add on to the purchase since that’s a thing they do anyway. As mentioned earlier, I bought this specifically to connect to my iPad. It linked very easily and quickly. I didn’t need to pull up directions- it was pretty straightforward. Adjusting settings was easy; the controller is responsive to incremental changes. Connectivity is consistent other than when the controller goes to sleep mode due to being idle, but when it is taken out of sleep mode the connection is restored automatically. (Native brands do this, but some third party brands don’t and need to have the connection manually reestablished, such as with speakers.) So other than size and batteries, I have no complaints… as of yet. ... show more
