  • Great little bike that needs adjustments and tuning.
I was looking for a small 4 stroke with electric start for my dad who's 78. After looking everywhere for an acceptable, easy to operate machine I looked up 4strokes on Amazon. This one was a little over a grand for a brand new bike so I ordered it. The bike arrived in approximately 1 week from order date and the folks at X-Pro were in constant communication so that made me feel good. The crate was beat up on the bottom and the battery as well as some nuts and bolts were also on the ground. This was before I even started to open the plastic and straps so I was wondering the whole time what else had fallen out throughout the journey. I put the bike together in about 2 hours, put gas in it and it fired right up but wouldn't idle. After a little tweaking of the air/fuel mixture screw which is on the right side of the bike covered by a round rubber grommet. Remove the grommet and the mixture screw is underneath. Instantly it started to leak gas from the overflow. Obviously the float was either stuck or just bad. I removed the carb and decided to inspect the bowl which is secured by 3 screws that don't look like they come out. Needle nose plyers proved that they are indeed removable. Everything looked ok so I blew it out and adjusted the float level. I hooked the gas up while it was off still and made sure that the needle and seat were indeed stoping the flow of fuel and they did. Hooked it back up, turned on the fuel, started the bike and it leaked everywhere again. I bought a mikuni knock off and it came in today. I installed it in about 5 min and used the original air filter as to not deal with the crank vent bs yada yada. Turned on the fuel fired right up. backed off the mixture and it purrs like a kitten. No more bogging out and it has plenty of power now. Adjust the clutch at the lever and it should be enough to allow a smooth transition to neutral. I really think that for the money this is a great little bike if you tweak out the quirks and certainly replace the carb immediately. ... show more
