I work in the entertainment industry and we use walkies all the time. Lots of people use the chest-mounted walkie holders, but they feel like a manssiere (check out Seinfeld for the reference) to me. It's simple, and you can put the walkie on either side. It has a mount for a mic, or you can also adjust the mic-holder for a surveillance. The strap to connect the holder to your belt loop keeps the walkie out of the way of your arm as well. This is perfect for me and the cost is much less than some leather thing meant for the police or fire department personnel. I'm planning on ordering another because I sometimes need to carry two. I’m using it for the first time tonight on my shift. Works great with our agencies KW P25 radios. Radio doesn’t swing back and forth. Stays in place. Like the mic holder also. Great case and strap.

A further update to set things right. I finally contacted a human at the company after three tries. Their mail server was misconfigured, which is why the support emails bounced. Apologies were offered and a new tether strap was sent my way with haste. This returns this set-up to being much more useful (the tape and wire to hold the broken strap to the holster just didn't work well). Once contacted, the company stood by its warranty, so all is well. Updating this after several months of use. One day at random the radio in this holder swung around in front of me on a call. I thought the tether strap had just come unhooked from my belt loop. When I tried to refasten it, I discovered that the strap was still connected to my belt, but had come loose from the pouch when the swivel bracket split. Since there is a warranty still in effect, I tried to contact the company for a replacement strap. No contact info to be found, so I asked here. Someone from X-fire said to send an email to [email protected] with details and a photo and they would fix the problem. Sent email and it quickly bounced with a "no address found" message. So I have taped around the swivel in the broken bracket as a temporary fix while I look for a new holder since this one is broken. I am an ambulance driver, so I need to keep a radio handy while on a call but also don't need to be burdened with a lot of extra gear while in the driver's seat (some wide straps have pockets and Molle attachment points and EMTs like to fill them up). My Motorola radio fits in this holder just fine and the strap keeps it in the right place. The tether strap keeps the holder at my hip and I don't have to worry about it swinging around at the wrong time. The clip on the strap puts the microphone at just the right place on my chest. This is the next kind of case I was looking for. I bought a total of three and this is the one that fit the best. I have a Motorola Xts2500 think it's like a glove. The strap on an is excellent you can adjust it to the right length that you want.

This is exactly what I wanted. I wanted something that will fit different model radios as I get deployed and am not always using my radios. I have photos of this with the Motorola APX 8000, with and without a speaker mic, and the Motorola APX NEXT, with and without a speaker mic. I like how the flexible sides leave room for the shoulder mic attachment point. As mentioned, the d-rings on the side are plastic so I hope they hold up, but it wasn't that expensive so I'm willing to accept the quality that I get. While this isn't a durable as the leather ones for firefighters, the lightweight of nylon is perfect for me and my deployment gear. ... show more

It fits the k 5,000 radio perfectly, I wish it had a peace to attach the mic cord to the strap. The d ring for the mic holder was a little small but I made it fit all and all decent for the price.

    • Gets the job done
This does the job to keep my radio close by. I hate having my radio on my belt and often remove it, leaving it places, which means people can't reach me as intended. This holder fixes that issue. I can adjust the straps to hang exactly where I want it to. I can drive, sit, stand, bend over, do all the things while this radio just hangs around, ready for me to use. I only use it during a couple of week-long events through the year, so it's not getting serious use every day, but seems sturdy enough for my needs. ... show more
