I took a couple of days to complete a story mode play through of WWE Battlegrounds. The game was entertaining for a bit. The graphic were cartoony and pleasant to look at. I did enjoy the character being animated and the selection screen. The characters were figurines within a box and wanting to breakout was a nice touch. The action within the rings and areas were light and colorful and animated fully. If you pay close attention some of the background is interactive which is a additional bonus. The moves looked extreme and the use of different glows on or around the characters to show which power up you were using was good detail. The camera was decent, but at times a bit chaotic when in Royal Rumbles or in three or fatal four way battles. The music and sound affects were fine, typical of the type of wrestling game. I listen to my own music while playing. I played on Xbox One X so using a an Xbox One control were fine button simple and easy to pick up. Within two to three matches you should be able to play the game with ease. The difficulty of the game can vary a lot on certain matches and the Royal Rumble and three and fatal four way can be difficult at times when all the AI is focused on you. I did notice, later in the store mode that most of my moves were reversed and I had difficulties reverse the AI moves, but after repeated matches I was able to completed all event in the basic story mode. I was a bit disappointed I couldn't go through the story mode with my created character instead have to use the characters provided. Those characters designs were ok and give you a general of each type of character within the game. The story is fine nothing surprising, but it was funny at times specially some of the stuff the characters have to go through. I suggest going through the story mode first to unlock outfits, abilities, other wrestlers, and credits for your created character. There is other modes of play and daily challenges within the game which adds to the reply value. The game has create a wrestling and arena which is cool, though the customization isn't as nearly a robust as other wrestling games. This is the type of game if you want to quickly play a couple of round or when friends or family members come over totally worth it. Quick to learn and play. If you looking for realistic wrestling game with a ton of customization I would suggest looking elsewhere. I hope you enjoyed this review and thank you for taking the time to read it. ... show more

Picked this up here on a "Black Friday" sale for $15 and I am glad I did. It's a fun game that doesnt take itself too seriously and the BEST part is that, unlike every other fighting game on XB1 you can unlock ALL the other wrestlers that you dont start off with...JUST BY PLAYING THE GAME...havent seen THAT in awhile and it surprised me. Reduced a star because there is a "shortcut"to unlock the other wrestlers offered and the price is INSANE and for the fact it's going to take a LONG time unlocking them through gameplay as the unlock credits are pretty high per wrestler. Having said that, it's a small step in the right direction that I WISH other fighting games would return to and as I stated before the game is good and lots of fun. IMO ESPECIALLY getting it on sale it's a good purchase and you'll enjoy it. ... show more

just pure wrestling fun, nothing more, nothing less. lots of characters past and present, a good variation of moves to keep things fresh. id personally love a more solid CAREER mode to make the game feel more complete.....but its a good time nonetheless.
