Are these the best knives out there? Probably not, but they are from one of the oldest and best name in knives available. If you're the gotta have the best knives available, maybe these aren't for you. However if you are looking for great knives from a reputable name, and your needs or uses are of the average Joe, then these are what you are looking for. Great start up set. Comes with the 3 most used knives, along with shears and a block you can add more too! If you are looking for value, its hard to beat the price as well. Generally the chefs knife itself will cost nearly as much as this set goes for. I haven't had them long enough to talk about longevity yet, but the only thing I will say is when you use them, make sure to hand wash them and dry them immediately.
