I have been searching for a knife that is well balanced and feels comfortable in my small hands. Found! The hollow edge santoku knife is lightweight and not bulky. After so many years of switching up knives for different foods, this is now my go to. I am happily emptying out my knife drawer and replacing all of them with this beauty. The thin carbon steel is sharp enough to cut through a butternut squash but easily slices cheese and tomatoes. I have several Wustof knives. I wanted a smaller Santoku than the 8" one I already own. Sometimes it's just easier to cut smaller foods with a smaller knife when you have slightly arthritic hands. I love this knife for shallots, cherry tomatoes, and to chiffonade finer herbs like chives.

Very sharp and holds its edge well for the price. This is now one of my go-to knifes in the kitchen. The handle is fairly ergonomic and does not leave my hands sore after dicing. This knife wont blow your mind or satisfy true enthusiasts but if youre like me and dont mind throwing your dirty knife in the dishwasher... good buy! ... show more

This is my second purchase of the Wustof 5" Santoku knife. I love it!! I still use the first one (6 years old) nearly every day, but bought a second (on sale) to have as backup. I use it so frequently that I often have to wash it and immediately use it again. It's a FANTASTIC all-purpose knife! Chopping, dicing, slicing. Weighted well and comfortable in the hand.
