Cooking in our household isn't just something we do to survive, it's a family affair. We prep together. We cook together. We eat together. My wife's favorite knife is her Santoku knife and after seeing her use hers so much, I knew she needed a second one so I would have to stop washing her current one as much. After some searching, I discovered this one. When it came in, I was impressed with the presentation first and foremost. It came in a nice gift box and came with both a knife sharpener and a knuckle guard. I think that's the right term for it. This is something I could have used earlier in my initial stages of learning how to prep, but is something my son can use when he is a little older. In addition to great presentation, the decoration on the blade of the knife helps it to pop and stand out from other knives we own. In terms of functionality of the knife, it is one of the best knives I have owned. It has good weight to it, and the balance feels spot on. In terms of maneuvering, I feel like it has a great deal to it, and the versatility is second to none. I can prep vegetables, fruit, meat. This knife does it all! My wife was reluctant to give up her favorite Santoku knife, so I used this one a few times. After she saw how much quicker I was performing than she was, she wanted to try the knife. She quickly fell in love with it, and then we had to decide who would get the knife. Of course she won, because she is the better chef...so now I am going to have to buy a second one of these, so we both have one!

I wasn't sure I'd like a knife this large, since I'm used to using a 5" blade. I really like that it has a sharpener, finger shield, and a sheath, but the sheath is not great. After using the knife a few times, I do like it. We'll see how long it holds up. It's quite sharp and does what a knife should do. It's a good size!

Ive been very happy with this Santoku knife. I have been using it almost daily since i got it a few days ago and i have been very impressed. The knife comes out SHARP out of the box! chopping veggies and cutting meat has been a breeze. This is an easy recommendation. I have also been impressed with the sharpener that comes in the box. I used it on my old chef knife since the santoku knife is already sharp. It did a great job putting an edge back on all of my old knives. Overall the package is a great value for the price.

Wonderful knife. Super sharp and nice that it comes with sharpener which is a plus. Easy to handle and Sturdy. Although the sheath is cheap it doesn't effect the knife. Glad we purchased this. Will be looking for other knives from this company.

This was a good purchase. Knife is solid, sturdy and very sharp. At first I thought it was heavy but soon changed my mind. Its easy to hold and use. With two of us cooking in the kitchen we both want to get to the "new" knife first. Presentation in box is nice to give as a gift, and includes a knife sharpener and finger guard which I can't seem to use. Our knife block is full, so it is stored in a drawer. If you're storing it in a drawer, I suggest purchasing a sleeve/sheath for safety purposes and to keep from ruining the blade.
