The knife is elegant and beautiful. I like the weight of the knife and 6" is fine enough for family use I think. BTW, be 1000% careful when you use it to cut onions, it's so sharp and my figure got cut in the first time I use it haha.

I'm an average cook and this is my go-to knife. It's the first knife I recommend to anyone building their knife kit, too. It's a great balance between nimble a hefty; I can break down a whole chicken, cube or slice big sweet potatoes, make quick work of carrots AND do delicate work making small dice out of onions, slicing up parsley or cilantro, halving grape tomatoes, etc. This knife is really comfortable for both my girlfriend (she's 5'2") and me (a foot taller) -- great for all hand sizes. My favorite thing about the Ikon line is that the bolster does not come all the way down to the heel of the blade, so it's super easy to sharpen all the way down and after decades of sharpening, won't develop an uneven edge. Wusthof makes amazing high-quality knives that hold a good edge but are also are easy to sharpen and hone at home. And if you want someone else to sharpen it, the German steel and 50/50 bevel is so popular that anyone can do a good job bringing back a perfect edge. Pair that with the lifetime warranty, and this knife could literally last that: a lifetime. ... show more
