Description

Wusthof Classic Ikon full-tang knives are precision forged from a single piece of exclusive Wusthof high-carbon stainless steel. The handle design is made of a highly durable synthetic material known as Polyoxymethylene (POM), which features a tighter molecular structure to resist fading and discoloration. The half bolster allows for the knife to be honed and sharpened the entire length of the blade and the heel bolster provides added balance. Each Wusthof Classic Ikon knife features a computer controlled cutting edge to ensure the final edge of the blade is precise and uniform from the tip to the heel. The Wusthof PEtec angle and tapered cutting edge reduces drag when slicing foods, allowing for seamless and effortless cutting. Each knife blade is completely buffed and polished by hand. Wusthof Classic Ikon knives are made in Solingen, Germany with a lifetime warranty.

Great knives but a couple of things about this set I didn’t care for. Given how pricey the Classic Icon line it is compared to say the Classic line you would expect top notch knives and accessories to be included. I have no issue with the knives, they are top notch, as are the knives in the Classic line. With the Classic Icon you’re paying a premium for styling. So two pieces in this set rubbed me the wrong way. The plastic handled scissors are as cheap as you can get, and the sharpening steel with its gaudy silver handle are out of place. To get proper scissors and a matching steel you’ll need to spend another $300+ retail. Not what I want to do after spending $1900+ after taxes. ... show more

Love this set. Not inexpensive, but a literal steel light sabre. Sharp! Great feel in the hand and heavy enough to make slicing easy. Get a good whetstone, and you'll be set.

After years of buying various knives for kitchen use, I received one Wusthof knife as a Christmas gift. It was transformational in terms of kitchen work. What a difference! The knife is comfortable, and it cuts through meat and vegetables so smoothly and easily without any 'tearing'. I was so impressed, I spent the money to get this entire knife set. My wife started to use them and had the same experience - she could not believe we lived all these years with lower quality kitchen knives. If you wonder if spending money on quality knives like this is worth it - the answer is a definite yes! It makes food prep easy, and there is a knife for every job. I had been drooling over this set of knives for a long time when I finally said what the heck after a couple glasses of wine. I haven't regretted it for a second, and wish I'd had too many glasses of wine and Amazon shopped earlier in my life. Not only is this the sexiest thing on my countertop (sorry, espresso machine and Vitamix!) but they cut like a dream. Just be careful because while they are sexy AF, they are also sharp AF. Definitely cut myself a couple of times, including one time my finger turned blue I bandaged it so tightly. Needless to say, I now respect the knives and their ability to cut my flesh just as easily as a good filet. ... show more

First of all, German knives are the way to go. We all chipped in to buy this knife block for my brother and it is beautiful. It was packaged very well and the knives are all individually wrapped. Gorgeous block set and fantastic quality.
