Description

Every Wusthof knife is crafted in Solingen, Germany; a family-owned and managed company with a rich heritage since 1814. Each Wusthof knife collection is made of high quality materials & craftsmanship. Precision forged featuring a full tang, high-carbon stainless steel with bolster to add balance and weight. The new Precision Edge Technology (PEtec) enhances the blades sharpness by 20%, and will last twice as long. Each knife features a computer controlled cutting edge to ensure the final edge of the blade is precise and uniform from the tip to the heel of the knife. Wusthof knives feature a 14 degree cutting edge on each side. This new angle and more tapered cutting edge reduces the drag when slicing through foods, allowing for seamless effortless cutting. Each knife blade is completely buffed and polished by hand. Made in Germany; lifetime warranty.

I read the description completely and everything indicated this set was made in Germany. Imagine my disappointment when reading “Made In China” written across the kitchen shears! This is miss leading and if I wanted cheap Chinese kitchen shears I could by a set at Harbor Freight for $2.99. I spent several hundred dollars on what was advertised and I thought was an entire set of forged, Solingen German made cutlery. If it wasn’t so close to Christmas (so I could acquire a quality replacement set), I would be sending these back for a refund. ... show more

Extremely Sharp knives. This is carbon steel vice stainless steel. This makes the knife more ductile. Easier to sharpen but doesn’t hold a edge as long as stainless steel. Realize what you’re getting. If you wa nt to sharpen your knives more frequently and have a extremely sharp knives. This is the set. If you don’t want to sharpen knives and edge isn’t as important to you, Then this is “NOT”the set to buy . Buy a Japanese stainless steel set of knives . I didn't need anything more than the knives that came with this set. They are best quality, very durable, and very sharp out of the box. I have used a hollow-ground Wustof Santoku for years that just gets thrown in a drawer when not in use and it has help up perfectly. I've had it sharpened professionally once in maybe 10 years. They are not cheap but this is the last set of knives I'll ever need to buy. ... show more

I know they're expensive but if you are able,get this set. They're the last knives you'll ever have to buy! Seriously. The quality is unlike ANY other knives I've ever owned. I plan on purchasing a few more knives that aren't in the set. They're THAT good.

I bought this set for my 5 year anniversary with my girlfriend. We've used a very cheap set of Chicago Cutlery for two years now, and this is a huge upgrade. We tested it out on an apple and an onion, and the insane sharpness caught my girlfriend by surprise. The knife slid through the onion incredibly easy and she cut her thumb and pinky pretty badly. We owned these knives for one hour, and I'm extremely impressed. Be very, VERY careful. I think that should go without saying with any knife, but these are dangerous if used without extreme caution. I just hope she isn't reluctant to use them now, haha. ... show more

I thought I kept my old knife set sharp. And then I got this set from Wusthof and now I realize that my old knives were not sharp at all. And I never realized before how much a sharp knife helps in the kitchen. Yes, they're expensive. But you get what you pay for with this set. Very sharp and very high quality.
