Probably the first 5 star I have given
I have a ski jacket that is over twenty years old and still in pretty good shape. It has served me well. However it is time to replace it. When purchased this jacket cost around $200 and included what was, at the time, hi-tek design and materials (in todays dollar that would mean more than doubling the price). . I just received this new jacket costing around $40 (Amazon deal). Having used it once, I am most impressed. First, some comparisons to my old jacket: both jackets are well designed. Seams are all straight and tight. Its length (I was a bit concerned about this as the seller did not provide dimension information) is perfect hanging just below the hips. While my old jacket had velcro wrist bands, the new one improves on how they are used and avoids inner materials from bunching. The jacket has an internal set of snaps with a snow band to keep warm air inside the chest area and snow out when in deep snow or when one falls. The design allows for a loose or tube fit or a way to have a form fitting wear. I also noted that this new jacket is noticeably lighter than my old one The materials and design allow for heat retention, even in windy conditions, probably down to the sub teens and significant wind. My old jacket pre-dates smart phones and electronically sensitive ski passes. The new one has all the pockets I need to store phones, passes, ear buds, gloves and other items and still look good. Given the price point, I am not taking off any stars for zippers. However, if the seller wants to improve this jacket that is where I would put a few extra bucks: better quality of zipper and a two way front panel zipper. Hope you all enjoy this coat as much as I will.

Seems to be well made
This was very well made and had all the functioning pockets. It looks good upon inspection but it was way too big so I passed it on to someone before I got a chance to try it out and wear it. It seems to have run on the larger side but not more than a size- I had ordered a couple sizes up to cover pads. The color is true to the brightness of the picture and this jacket has so many great parts. True to description and I would purchase again in my size. I ordered this for the mountains on a not so freezing day of snowboarding. It looked warm, but not too bulky so that I would feel hindered. The material felt light but protective. I was excited for it. The color is a safety help on the slopes too. A good value, I would say, but I cannot attest to how it feels in the elements for sure. I

Any brand name would easily charge $150+ for this coat. It’s comfortable, soft. High quality. Stylish and water resistant. Buttons and zippers easy to use and smooth. Sleeves are long enough to go over the wrists of gloves which is a must for me!

Best coat for the money by far

Very comfortable warm and durable. I work in a steel mill I needed something for outside more thermal than a Carhartt. This was perfect and I guess looks good too. Also when it gets ruined I won't feel bad about it because of its price. Will buy again

Zipper Issue

I bought this jacket for my son and after 2mth the zipper is messed up. He loves it. It is soft, warm, deep pockets. He loves this style. It is worth the money only issue is the zipper. I can not send it back due to window being closed out. So I will have to buy him a new one

Fits well and is cozy!
I'm 6ft 135lbs (woman) and got a M and it fit perfectly oversized which is what i wanted. I am only using it in moderately cold weather so i wont be able to comment on it in snow but is very warm and cozy. I get cold very easily and it's been great to wear during my morning walks Update after wearing it in 45°F + rain storm weather: Held up wonderfully, I was very warm and completely dry and was in the rain for 30mins uncovered!! Very impressed. Ordering a different color now!

Winter Weather RESCUE!

This jacket is worth its weight in gold. I am extremely cold sensitive and had a family trip to NYC in December. I am 5’11 woman, 245lbs. I bought men’s 2x in order to layer clothes underneath the jacket. It worked perfectly and still fit very comfortably. The quality gets a 4/5 stars, only due to the fact that I’ve already found a small tear on the front zipper part. It’s nothing I can’t stitch back together, but sucks it happened so soon to me buying it. I’ve already gotten my moneys worth from this jacket and will absolutely be buying it again in the future.

Great value, solid winter wear.

I'm a fan. At 5'9" 175lbs, the medium fits me like a glove. I immediately ditched the hood because I'm not a fan of hoods in general, but what was left behind is a warm, well-fitting, stylish jacket. It looks good without being overbearing, the collar is perfectly sized to wear up or folded, your preference. Zipped up fully it will fully protect your neck, but I imagine most of my use will be zipped 3/4s up. I wouldn't wear it in the most extreme of conditions (say, uh, mounting climbing for days on end,) but this is more than good enough for general every day winter use. I'm in New England where winter is a 5-month endeavor so this will be seeing its fair share of use. The inside lining is soft and comfortable and the outside has a tough synthetic feel without being stiff whatsoever. You don't have any kind of restricted movement wearing this, even fitting snugly there's enough room in the arms and torso for full range of motion and it doesn't feel bulky at all anywhere. I'm a fan. I bought the gray on sale for $30, but would've paid more. The normal price of 40-45 is still very reasonable for the value you receive in return. I think I'm going to buy another in black or navy next, and get one of the womens for my daughter.
