I've not use the 144/meter LEDs before and so I was pleasantly surprised at just what a difference the density makes in the brightness. The color is great and while most of my string is still intact, I've cut off two 16 LED segments for other projects and I could not be more pleased with these. I did not ready the ad as well as I should have so I was very surprised to have it come with a mini controller that does a fair number of effects without a separate microcontroller attached. Used these for my Arduino weather station project. Some notes... You can cut the LED strip anywhere, although be advised you'll be soldering three wires (power, gnd, data) to tiny connection points... get a very fine tip for your soldering iron. I'm using a 5v, 10a power supply and controlling with an ESP32. The 3.3v data pin on the esp32 has had no issues driving the data pin, even though the ws2812b data sheet says 3.7v minimum. I didn't (and wouldn't) try driving the LED power line through the esp32 (although probably would work for a small number of LEDs) FastLED library works great. Not sure if this true for all these strips, but mine had Red and Green reversed in terms of the FastLED data stream. Easy fix... FastLED.addLeds<WS2812B, 13, GRB >(leds, NUM_LEDS); //Where WS2812B is the LED type, 13 is my data pin, GRB specifies that G is the first byte of data, R is next. Side note, each LED consumes 60 mW when fully bright white... so all 3 colors lit up. Plan ahead if you need to light up a long strip completely (or just buy a 5v 10A power supply ahead of time) ... show more

The lights on the strip are insanely bright, and the colors are rich and beautiful. If you use the strip whole, it works a treat. If you want to cut it into smaller pieces and solder wires to those pieces, you're going to have a bad day. The copper pads easily peel right off of the flexible circuit board, the heat from soldering wires to the pads easily desolders the LED chip from the board. It requires much patience and skill. If, however, you need an inexpensive source of 5050 neopixels to solder into another project, this is a great source - they're easy to remove from the strip without damage. ... show more

Great strip of WS2812 neopixels. These are 144 led/m and the entire strip has a length of 1m. This is a 5v strip, and terminates in 3-pin JST connectors at both ends, along with an 'extra' positive and negative lead for power injection. ALso its important to note that this strip is NOT waterproof - its just the bare strip (pcb) without any kind of waterproof coating or sleeve. But the 144led/m pixel density looks absolutely spectacular, especially at full brightness - which is crazy bright. The strip produces vivid color and animations, and it works perfectly with my various Arduino and ESP microcontrollers. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to tinkerers and makers! ... show more

One reel of LED WS2812B strip that works on 5v DC power. The kit contains the controller but doesn't include a 5v power supply that is required to use this. This is defiantly a DIY kit as there are extra things that you will need to get this to work. The strip can be cut into any length and the controller senses the amount of LED's that are connected. These are VERY bright and controllable LED's so if you plan on using them with a different controller be sure you have enough power to operate them. ... show more

Adhesion is bad because its covered in a silicone sheath and does not contain its own adhesive. The brightness is good. I think my overall rating would be 5 stars if not for the fact that one of the strips looked like it had previously been used and some of the LEDs were burnt out. Unfortunately I did not notice this until I had already cut it to a smaller size so I could test it with an ESP32 dev board. The one that was new worked perfectly, the other one just had random LEDs on and would not update at all, most of the LEDs did not even light up. I took some pictures showing the good one vs the bad one as well as closeups. ... show more
