The braces were purchased to replace some old ones used for arthritis that had worn out. These are similar but not the same. The braces must be re-velcroed after each use as one does not just slip your hand through to the wrist. The biggest issue is the difficulty in getting them off after use. Apparently the velcro is backwards as trying to get them to release is extremely difficult and some times painful depending on the status of the flare up. I fell walking my dogs and needed some stability in my wrist. After wearing the brace for two days, my wrist did not hurt anymore. Pricewise and quality I would say this was a good purchase.
