After having lost a significant amount of weight, my 38" cargo shorts were much too large. Needed some 36" ones but was having trouble finding decent ones this late in the summer. The ones I was able to find in my size and color were way overpriced ($50 for cargo shorts in late summer?...c'mon guys). These are exactly what I wanted. Great price, they fit well and the 2% spandex allows for a little extra give if needed. Normally, I get 100% cotton and was not thrilled with 98% cotton/2% spandex. Now that I have them and worn them for several weeks, though, not a problem. They have 7 pockets which is just right. The so-called tech pocket is on the left and is roomier than my other Wrangler ones. Fine by me. I use this pocket for my eyeglasses and these holds reading glasses and sunglasses easily. The flaps on both outside pockets are secured by velcro (the right one is where I keep my phone). The four inside pockets are sufficiently deep. Would have liked a button or something on at least one back pocket to protect my wallet but not a big deal. This is not a complaint, just a statement. Besides, these pants I usually wear with the shirt hanging out anyway. Finally, I have had some issues with older shorts where there is a double seam on the outside pocket, causing them to pop out a bit, even if only lightly filled. Hate that. Although these have a double seam there is more material between the seams so I do not find popping out to be an issue with them. I bought two pairs of the dark putty and one of the grain twill. Both colors shown on Amazon not exactly true. The dark putty is more like a stone or pewter color. Perfect for me. On Amazon picture they look almost white. The grain twill is what I would call khaki. Again, perfect for me. Not too dark as some of them can be and as appears in the Amazon picture. Very pleased with this purchase and will likely purchase these again when needed.

I can't speak about durability on Day 1 but I can tell you the pockets are deeeep for my XL hands and oversized phone. The cargo pockets can also fit an oversized flagship phone (Samsung S23 ultra) and the phone pocket (on left) can also absorb it without sticking out. It's weird to have it on the left, though,when all other shorts are on the right (for right handed people, which is 99% of the population!) I assume Wrangler adapts the size of the pockets according to phone tech trends. It was the ONLY reason I got the shorts tbh. I've read complaints about tears and overly thin material. So far, the construction/stitching is MUCH BETTER than the popular Lee Cargo Shorts which were a ZERO from opening the package on first fitting (2 shorts that tore in zipper and cargo loop. I'll update this review if they don't last me a year.

I ordered one pair just to see what they were like, wore that one pair for a couple of hours and ordered a second pair. After leaving this comment, I'll order two more. The waist has a bit of give to it, which is great for a 78-yr-old whose massive chest is now located around his waist. The material is lightweight, perfect for the humidity and heat here on the Chesapeake Bay. Comfortable, serviceable, look good. My only negative is that there are no buttons on the back pockets; I will sew a button and put a button hole on the one back pocket where I carry my wallet when I wear them out in public.

I like the color, style and quality. The issue I had is that when putting them on and checking how they fit around my waist, due to the stretch fabric it wasn't clear how snug they would be. Without pulling on the waist band they didn't feel snug enough. I put my wallet and cell phone in the front pockets and walked around the house. They started sliding down slowly to the point I could tell they would not stay up if I went for a long walk. The fabric may be too stretchy. Stretching the waist band to estimate how much they would stretch I believe that they have 3 inches to spare. I'm returning them and getting a size 30 and at that size, I will probably still have to wear them with a belt to make sure they don't slide down if I am going to be active and have things in my pockets.

So far, they seem durable enough to wear for a route job that I work. Comfortable and flexible enough for a lot of motion, but solid enough that they would ever have a blowout. Stitching is good, and I'm wearing them outside of work, also. I wish the cargo pockets were a little deeper. Putting a phone in there makes it a bit difficult to close the velcro flap, but the back pockets are available with no velcro back there. They work pretty well, and I'll buy them again in the future.

They were just what I hoped for when I ordered them. Made from durable wrangler denim, but with those great pockets on the legs. Very comfortable and they also have a little stretch in the material. All around a good buy.

I love these shorts. I have several pairs. They are flexible and comfortable and fit really well. The cell phone pocket is great. It doesn't take up room in your regular pockets and it fits snugly so it doesn't bang around on your leg. These are great shorts.

Light, comfortable, nice cargo pockets with Velcro fasteners. Really like the slide in slot for the smart phone. Yes, it is on the left side, but I do have two hands. Will be ordering more soon.
