  • Pretty Good, Low Cost Golf Rangefinder
Style: Rechargeable
H-111 Model: After 1 day of use, a full 18 holes, its a pretty good rangefinder for around $100. I will say that even though it has a power button, it doesn't turn off the unit. (turns off automatically after 45secs - 1 minute) I wish it had a more powerful battery as it got to low battery indicator after constant use to around the 14th hole. The power button is more or less a selector for shoot/capture the target. The vibration feature is nice for slope and target lock, but it will require a lot of training to have steady hands. Ranking it 5 stars for low cost, good features and rechargeable. I was able to measure up to 350 yards with max magnification. I would recommend using a tripod or something steady to screw in the bottom for use on the firing range for more yardage. It can also switch from Meters to Yards once its in the target range mode. ... show more

  • Exceptional value! Now over 2 years later!
Style: Rechargeable
I have used far more expensive laser range finders. Until now, I assumed nothing could outshine Bushnell. From my experience [one day ownership] this wins hands down. We were using a high end Bushnell at the same time. Both units were reading the same. So accuracy matches the more expensive unit. The owner of the Bushnell unit is a regular golfer who relies heavily on its accuracy; and, therefore, is very proficient with its performance. I am not very proficient. In the past I struggled to get the correct reading with all other laser range finders. Not the case with this unit. The major difference with this unit is its locking in on the pin's flag. This unit has 3 modes. For my purposes, only the golf mode is of importance. In the golf mode you simply hold down the power button to the left or right of the pin. Then move the cross hairs across to the opposite of the flag then back to the flag. The finder recognizes the flag is in the foreground, and locks on that distance. The built in slope calculator gives you two readings: straight line distance and the distance taking in the slope. It also will vibrate when it locks in on the flag and a small flag icon is also displayed. This makes it difficult to get a wrong reading [and quick to grab the distance with confidence]. 1+ year update: this unit continues to outperform expectations! I have friends with units costing 3x as much. Their units are no faster. I probably play 36 holes per week and usually charge it overnight every month. I have never gotten a low battery warning. While the Bushnell units may have long battery life, 2 of my friends units have had dead batteries during our round. Optics are adjustable for my rx and very clear. Update: I've now been using this rangefinder for over 2 years with absolutely no issues. Optics remain clear and accuracy remains reliable. As I have used them I now recognize some Superior features on this unit. First this unit will vibrate when it locks in on your distance. The rechargeable batteries are long-lasting between charges. With new golf carts you can plug it in to the USB port on the golf cart if necessary although I have never found that necessary between charges. I have used this unit on average three times per week for 2 years. Typically I will recharge it every 36 to 72 holes simply because it's easy to do rather than risking it running down. I still consider it more accurate and a better value than the more expensive major brands that some of my playing partners use. I have added a cheap magnetic cover so it can be snapped against the frame of the golf cart for easy access. ... show more

  • Works ... and Priced Right!
Style: Tournament legal
I've needed one of these when not riding in a cart. After doing a little searching, I concluded that prices fluctuate wildly for these devices. I chose this one based on price and the lack of indication that more are returned than sold. I've used mine for the last year when walking 9 holes and it's held up well in my bag in its little carrying case. The biggest challenge I've encountered is that it is pretty sensitive to what's behind the flag. I have found that if there is a tree or pole behind the green, it can get easily confused as to the target and return a distance that is obviously inaccurate. So, whenever I'm using it I will hit the target two or three times thru the viewfinder to make sure it is targeting the right object. (e.g. 124.4 yds, 125.5 yds, 238.3yds, 124.5 yds - so I conclude I'm approximately 125 yards away from the hole.) No complaints and the distances seem pretty accurate for my club distances. ... show more

  • Works as expected, without breaking the bank.
Style: Tournament legal
I have had experiences with some expensive range finders in the past and they all work pretty well until the inevitable day you set it on the cart or your bag and drive away. Most people are honest and will bring it back to the clubhouse lost and found. But not always. So this alternative works for me because it's cheap to replace and honestly works as good as any I've used. Value/quality is right in line with my objectives. Easy to use and still haven't had to replace the battery. ... show more

  • Five years later and it is still going strong.
Style: Rechargeable
I purchased this back in 2019 and it is still working well to this day. The accuracy is usually +/- 1 yard compared to other name-brand finders. I would 100% buy again. Battery life is great. I haven't had it die and I get several rounds of golf between charging. Does not work when it's foggy/misty because the laser reflects off the moisture. ... show more

  • Does not pick up flag
Style: Tournament legal
Update 2/22/24. The company was good enough to send me a new rangefinder. I found that this version is working much better. Great customer service. Thanks! Took this out golfing. Had a difficult time locking on the flag. Often picked up the background bushes and gave inaccurate readings after shooting yardage 3-4 times. I am returning this and sticking to my gps for now. ... show more

  • Decent overall purchase. Battery is wonky
Style: Tournament legal
It's accurate, super easy and fast to use. Overall I enjoy the purchase but the battery life is so weird. It will work for about 10 ranges in succession and then all of a sudden say the battery is dead. I will let it chill for a little while and battery is at full charge again. A couple shots later without warning it's completely dead again and can't range anything. The battery is my only complaint with the item. ... show more
