I love my d4 blue wc. Its so easy to use joystick, i flip the joystick over when restaurants have low tables. The battery is easy to remove, 1 click on a button, no screws to remove it is designed to remove in 15 seconds and does.Since I don’t need it at home , I leave wc in car trunk and we just recharge battery in the house. It has a USB socket in joystick so it can charge my iPhone or ipad (you need 2 different shortie USB cords). THE SPEED has 5 adjustments, my husbands walking speed in #1. So it shows what pep it has, easy to get over speed bumps. Battery lasts weeks. I use it for shopping, restaurants, dr visits and only have run it all the way down once. I may buy an extra charging cord if traveling. I use an add on cup holder, and a baby diaperbag backpack ( they are less expensive than the ones for wheelchairs) on rear to hold my “stuff” , and a nice gel seat cushion to prevent pain/pressure sores. I think it weighs slightly more than advertized but its light as electric wc go. Easily foldable too. Don’t take the anti-tip wheels off as its lighteeight makes it tip prone without thrm. We also put electric tape over the audio hole where backup tone beep sound eminates from to dampen it (its too damned loud). Turns on a dime, so easy to maneuver, spins like a zero radius lawnmower. I love mine. To take the battery off just push the button and pull it off, you can charge it directly to the battery or from the joystick. We just unclick battery and charge it in the house leaving chair part in the car. The battery has a covered plug and gauge showing power left. I would love to buy a second battery for traveling back-up. What battery can be used. I am not paying $350 for an OEM battery .that is outrageous-i will go to Batteries bulbs plus Snd have my husband get one even if he has to go with another and weld it on. As for the weight yes the chair weighs 30lbs but that is without wheels, anti tippers, joystick and battery- each of these add to the 30 lb weight as it’s completely assembled when you are taking it in and out of vehicles - even with all the removable things put on the wheelchair its still pretty lightweight. Probably closer to 40-45 lb. We both are in our 70’s and both of us can put it in and out of the trunk or back seat. ... show more

    • Not what is cracked up to be

Lightweight it is, easy to fold it is, easy for a small woman to put in trunk of it is. Right out of the box it works great. I don’t think is airline approved, an interesting fact to discover, depending on the airline, when you get ready to board. I intended to use it this way as my ninetieth birthday is long past and I can’t take a step. But when you fold it, at least mine, the battery falls off. I fixed this problem with tie wraps. The screws are not fastened with Loctite, and they will fall out, leaving you a bit surprised when the strut supporting the right arm rest and control joystick suddenly falls away. The effort required to push it is only reduced slightly by turning it off. The instruction manual that came with my chair told me very little that wasn’t intuitive. Particularly interesting was the fact that neither the manufacturer was ever named in said book. Additionally, the manual did not supply a phone, or email address, or web site. The web site and phone number did appear on the outside of the shipping container. Buy the way, my shipping arrived heavily damaged, including tearing off some off the afore mentioned information, though I could make out the phone number. Maybe you keep meticulous records, including info on shipping containers, I didn’t at this time, but will check everything in the future. Someone reported a hard seat, a problem solved by a gel cushion for wheelchairs available everywhere. I used mine from my wheelchair, until I bought another one. With time, less than six months with mine, the motors get weaker, a lot weaker. And the joystick and the controller get into an argument as to which motor to control, so the chair only wants to go in circles. Various methods were tried to get it to go where I wanted to, and for about a month those worked. But all good things must come to an end, and now it only turns in a circle to the right. If there is a warranty with the chair, the importer/supplier is in California, and I am in Georgia. Nobody else will touch it. So, I in essence rented it for five months at nearly two hundred dollars a month. I don’t recommend it unless you live next door to the distributor. ... show more

    • Narrow enough to go shopping easy and get through home doors

I have two much more expensive models, but this one comes so easily in and out of back seat or trunk. Light enough I can fo it myself. No need for ramps, or lifts attached to car. Charges lase a good length of time and it plugs into standard outlet or car outlet. I use it daily and even Dr was impressed. The only negative I can say in my insurance would not reimburse me and I cannot say why as they did the models cost 4 and 5 times as much. This was cheaper than buying a new battery for one of the other chairs. I have told so many where I got it when they ask….haha. Might deserve commission as a snowbird lots of people comment. Oh yes, works great at tables in restaurants! I will get my picture taken in it and be sure Amazon posts it ... show more

    • Handy, easy to use, but too lightweight

When I ordered this chair, I had been putting off the necessity of needing one for years. However, I had to attend a conference where I needed the increased mobility, as well as, a compact size. This chair fit the bill. It was comfortable, easy to use, and very maneuverable. The big problem is due to its light weight it has "wheelie bars" on the back and it needs them. It is prone to tip backward if the slope is too acute or if you take off to fast. If it wasn't for this I would give it a much higher rating. Its battery life and power usage is fantastic, there has been only once in the last six months that I have ended running it down into the lower yellow zone and that was after several days of hard consistent use. ... show more
