I had surgery and couldn't let the incision rest on a pillow. I am a side sleeper and decided to get this to help support my face if I rolled over and perhaps keep me on my back during healing. This was the 3rd neck pillow as the others are all too soft and offer zero support. I have slept with this pillow for 3 weeks now! Amazing. It supported my neck enough to keep my incision clear and yet so comfortable I have slept many nights on my back with just a tilt of my head. It is firm but the point is to have some support, it isn't hard by any means. I haven't sweated and the fabric cleaned very nicely. I got the grey and it is nice looking and very soft against my face. I am so happy I got this for my recovery and plan to use it traveling and to sleep on my back on occassion for my back. I have bought three of these on three different recent transactions - they are so firm/comfy. My bf stole mine, and I bought one for my Mom (she loved it in a recliner), and had to get one for me. They are SO ergo/comfy and the right amount of firmness. I use in bed and I twist it and sleep on it and with it around my neck and in all different positions - it is versatile. I love it. I have a bobble head (ha) and need extra support on top of my regular (bad) pillows. Definitely traveling with this too this season. Couple of things: I WANT to love this pillow. It's well made and nice and firm with a soft minky outer cover and a snap to prevent the pillow from coming off. Now here's the not-so-great: If you're a large adult male, this pillow is probably perfect. Unfortunatley, I'm a 5' 4" (1m60) woman and the pillow is a bit too big for my head /neck to rest comfortably. The inside of the pillow, while supportive and firm, is not encased in a second layer of muslin. This makes opening the pillow to remove the stuffing and wash the outer casing unrealistic. The stuffing is made of a ton of individual (I'm assuming) Poly fibers and it makes a big stinking mess. The possibility of getting it all back in and maintaining the same level of support is highly unlikely, though I haven't tried because I'm too afraid of the potential mess. Additionally, while it's soft minky fabric, if you've got curly hair, it's not great for keeping curls intact. I have fine wavy hair and the little hairs of softness grab my curls and separate, making a frizzy mess. I'm going to keep it because my boys love it, but just know that it won't last very long if you're a sweaty sleeper before becoming gross on the outside. ... show more
