The media could not be loaded. Product was securely packaged although I have to say the outer box was damaged and opened when I received it. However, the item itself was in another box and was very well wrapped with a lot of bubble wrap to keep it from getting damaged. That said, on to the review. There were no instructions as it was fairly straightforward to assemble. I did refer to the picture on here for assembly. Took all of two minutes and it was done. I first tested it out on a skein of yarn that I had not yet rolled into a ball of yarn. That went fairly smooth and took less than a few minutes to roll into a nice little cake of yarn. It slid off the center spindle with ease. The spindle also comes off the base with ease in case your yarn accidentally gets wrapped around the base. Then I tested it out on a ball of yarn I already had rolled. The results were both the same. I am happy with the results. If you have a lot of yarn, you’re going to want this product. It easily turns any ball or skein of yarn into a ready to use cake of yarn that you can either pull from the center or the outer side to start from depending on your preference. Also - if you wanted to, you could use an empty toilet paper tube and slide it down over the spindle prior to winding your yarn. That way if you decide to use you yarn from the outside working in, it won’t collapse on you and it will have something to stay wrapped around. I’m going to use one of these next and see how it works. The tube easily slides over the spindle so it should work just fine. I have included a photo. All in all my purchase was well worth the money. I really like this product. The only thing I would improve on it is the clamp on the base. There needs to be one more to make it more secure. One small clamp doesn’t always work for everyone but I think two would be better. It’s a beautiful piece and nicely finished. I have included a video to demonstrate how it works.

My expectations were far exceeded! The wood on this yarn and ball winder is fine-furniture quality worthy of display. Assembly was very easy. It is very sturdy. It works smoothly and quickly. My favorite yarn is hand dyed and comes in hanks. I had four giant knots and decided I needed winder. This winder has saved the other hanks and there may be hope for my knots! I am happy I did not buy a plastic one. This wooden winder is just too special.

This winder doesn't wind consistently. The yarn will stay on the ball for a bit but then it skips either above or below the ball. Speed doesn't seem to make any difference. I do enjoy how quiet and smooth it is. I don't like that it is a rubber belt. I see that failing rather quickly if you do a lot of yarn cakes. I wouldn't buy again. I'll rarely use it.

I received both the spinner and the ball winder a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, one of the parts wasn't milled properly I couldn't assemble it properly. I contacted Mohd at the company and he promptly shipped replacement parts. I am delighted with the products. They are beautiful and work perfectly now. I'm looking forward to years of happy knitting with them.

The media could not be loaded. The wood is quite pretty, and the swift is useful for about 80% of the skeins I need to wind. I initially thought that I wasn't going to be able to assemble it, but eventually, my husband and I figured out that if you put the cake support and the gear on their posts at the same time, they do fit together. I hope that helps someone. Customer service also replied to me within 24 hours when I contacted them. I've now used it for a few skeins and put a shelf liner underneath to keep it from sliding since I am not always using a table that fits a small clamp on the edge.

I love the simplicity of this product and how easy it is to use. I like the way I can turn my balls of yarn into a better option to store them. It is great! I will say the one downside I have found is that it is hard to keep fastened to a table without holding onto it as it is winding.

This yarn ball winder is absolutely gorgeous but is useless when it comes to winding yarn. I tried 4 different types of yarn, multiple times on each. All I got was a lopsided tangled mess. I purchased this to go in my newly remodeled farm style craft room. It looks great but I'm going back to my plastic model.
