This is a wood stove fan. It has four blades and it is heat powered, which means it does not take any electricity. This is great because we got this to use in case of an emergency with the power out. This fan comes with a bracket that can enable you to attach it to the top of your Mr Buddy Heater, again a win-win. All of these space heaters usually do not have a fan built in them and the hot air goes straight up with the room barely getting warm. This fan helps to solve that problem because it pushes the air forward into the room creating a comfortable environment. This fan is well made and works great for me. I am using it for my Mr Buddy Heater. This is an excellent efficient wood stove fan!

The media could not be loaded. I don't really have a stove like this is supposed to sit on, but I thought I could concoct a method to still use it with my linear fireplace, by sitting it on a steel plate in front of the fireplace. And it works pretty well! I've attached a video of it running as expected. It actually got going a little bit faster than the video a few minutes later, once the fireplace was as hot as it was going to get. But even with this thing going at pretty full tilt, I'm not really sure that it moves that much air. I definitely could notice that the heat was getting a little farther than it normally does in the room - maybe another couple of feet - but I still was a little disappointed that there wasn't a more tangible amount of airflow from it. But it's still pretty cool how these things work, so I can't knock it for that.

This is great for wood stoves or propane stoves (it comes with a clip to use with a Buddy heater too if you have one of those, though it's not the sturdiest but would probably work). It doesn't require any external energy source - it's powered by the difference in temperature between the top piece with the fan and the bottom piece (the little orange separating layer detects the difference and generates the power). The speed of the fan blades depends on how hot it is - it may take a bit to get going but then puts out a decent amount of air (and it's almost entirely silent). It's not going to heat a great room in a huge cabin or such, but it's sufficient for a couple hundred square feet.

Runs mostly silent, can't hear it from a few feet away. It doesn't have a "strong" thrust of air like a regular house fan, but at about 150 degrees surface temperature, its air currents disturb a candle flame about 16-18" away, and the hotter the surface gets, the faster it turns and the further it blows. 200 degrees surface temperature, the air currents disturb a candle flame at 3' distance. Best thing is - it costs nothing to run it all the time!

I have another fan that works great this was an extra one to give more air flow. it is too light and the vibration of the fan causes it to move across the top of the stove with risk of falling off

I love these little fans, they really help to circulate hot air in my house. We use a pellet stove to heat our home and one room is hotter than the others, the air doesn't circulate well on it's own. These little fans help to move the air around a bit better. They are slow but work great at just giving a bit more of a push for the air to move into the cooler areas, like the kitchen. I like that they use the heat to move the fan. Great little tool and it really does help.

As someone who's used these heat-powered stove fans for years, I'm always on the lookout for a decent replacement when one wears out. This fan is functional, but it falls into the "just okay" category. It’s compact, spins up quickly once your stove reaches temperature, and silently helps distribute heat. The eco-friendly, no-power-needed design is a great feature, but the airflow leaves a bit to be desired, especially if you're looking to heat a larger space. From my experience, this fan works well if you're close to it, but beyond a foot or so, you won’t feel much movement. It’s not going to blast warm air around your room, but it does help with circulation, which can make a difference on those cold nights. If you're using it with a small stove in a cozy room, it'll do the job; however, for larger spaces or if you want to feel the heat a bit further away, you might need a couple of these, or better yet, a larger model with more blades. The build quality is fine, but it does feel a little lighter and flimsier than some of the other fans I’ve used. It’s not going to fall apart on you, but don’t expect it to have a solid, heavy-duty feel. On the plus side, it’s simple to use—just set it on your stove and it starts doing its thing. Overall, if you’re looking for something basic that helps with heat distribution without raising your electric bill, this will do the trick. But if you’re after more powerful airflow, you might want to consider a bigger or multi-blade option.
