    • Truly Amazing Art--A Must-Have Piece of Wonder Woman Lore
Format: Hardcover
This is an interesting re-envisioning of the origin of the Wonder Woman's society of Amazons. The story is okay, and some of the characters are interesting, but it is the art that truly makes this volume exceptional. The representations of the goddesses, in particular, are extremely cool. I loved the way the book reclaimed Hera, who has sometimes served as a villain in WW stories. ... show more

    • Best Origin Story
Format: Hardcover
I love Wonder Woman and this is my favorite "Wonder Woman" book (even if she's not in it). The artwork is absolutely stunning and the story is very captivating. I would recommend this to anyone!

    • Classic graphic novel
Format: Hardcover
I read this on Kindle first, and liked it so much I bought in hard copy. I love the way the story is told, and the art is fantastic. I also enjoyed reading it to my 11-year-old daughter who's keen on both mythology and super heroes. Note that it's not necessarily "kid appropriate" by many people's standards--it presents some very challenging issues and situations. ... show more

    • Beautiful Artwork and Engaging Story
Format: Hardcover
James Gunn has said he's going to do a history of the Amazons as part of the DC movies reboot. If that's true, this is the story he should base it on. I'll be honest, I ordered this for no reason other than the gorgeous cover (don't tell my wife). It arrived a day earlier than the estimated arrival time in pristine condition, so I was already impressed. Then, I read the story. All I'll say about that is, if you think you know how the Amazons came to be, you're wrong. A must-have for anyone who enjoys comic books in general and Wonder Woman in particular. ... show more

    • The story is fantastic but the scanning is pretty poor
Format: Kindle
The overall story and mythology behind the Amazons are great. I love the new take on their origins, and the design for each of the Amazons is incredible. However, the scanning of the pages is really poor in some places. In some panels, it was hard to see what exactly I was supposed to be looking at.

    • Beautiful artwork!
Format: Hardcover
If you're looking for an epic Wonder Woman story, I recommend Grant Morrison's three-volume Earth One series. This is pre-Diana Amazon history that hopefully the upcoming Amazon miniseries will be inspired by. But the main reason to buy this is the gorgeous artwork! Originally three volumes in oversized comics, you get parts by Nicola Scott, Phil Jimenez and Gene Ha and extraordinary color. The slick pages really make for a huge palette and you will NOT be disappointed! ... show more
