I ordered this jacket in a medium, and another brand's less expensive but identical-looking jacket in a large to cover my bases for a costume. The off-brand jacket was passable but Scarlet's version looked higher quality and felt it. The red was also deeper/more vibrant in color. For a Halloween costume quality might not matter to everyone but I keep mine and re-purpose them all the time so I prefer a better material. I added (pin in) shoulder epaulettes and sewed in some gold bling on the (looks-only) pockets for a Ringleader costume. Next year I'll remove all that and can use it for a goth vampire, steam punk outfit etc. This looked and felt like "clothing" rather than Halloween costume material. I am 5'5", 140 lbs, 34DD for reference. The medium fit perfectly fine- plenty of room. The back lacing could be tightened or cinched as needed so there is a lot of versatility in sizing. (The other reason I returned the other jacket- the large was too big.) Happy to have paid extra and will use again. Do plan on steaming or ironing before use.

I find it pretty lightweight and quite flattering. The size can pretty much adjusted from the back but don't go too hard on it, as it is made from the same material as the rest of the piece and you don't want it to tear. My only real issue are the arms as it feels a little tight when I move them around, though I did expect that since my arms are pretty big. That's actually why I got the short sleeve version. Though- when I loosen the strings in the back it kinda fixes my issue? Just wanted to say this - I bought it for Thanksgiving but really liked it that I wanted to wear it to the Ren Faire and possibly anywhere else I'd go. Will be getting the black soon and just got a red one for Christmas. Might eventually get one with longer sleeves though more research is needed. May size up for that. EDIT: Still haven't gotten the black yet, but did get a longer sleeved one. I just seem to have an issue with the arms as mine are big. I can still put it on, but I don't like restricted movement.

I bought the striped version of the jacket for a Halloween costume. A little pricy just for Halloween, but I feel it was worth it. It's true to size (I'm a medium, and the medium I ordered fits perfectly), looks like the picture, and is good quality. I'll save it beyond Halloween to see if I can use it for non-Halloween occasions. It has a great steampunk rocker vibe!

I ordered Black 4 button M and got Blue 1 button Large - wrong size, wrong design, and wrong color. I feel like I need to order directly through Scarlet Darkness because my last order was perfect - ordered 5 things all came correct color and sizes. I wish they sent the correct item. My daughter likes the blue and wants both now, but blue won't work for any of her outfits, as she owns nothing blue. Pretty bummed because it's 50 bucks and now I have to buy the correct one for another 50 bucks or go through the trouble of returning this because of their mistake (amazon keeps track of your returns and if you return over a certain percentage of items, they don't let you order, but this is not my fault. I ordered correctly and they sent the wrong item). Grrr.... I'm just so sad and annoyed. But as for the item, the fabric is better than expected, sewing is better than expected and, with the cinching, the large will fit my medium daughter, who has a 36 inch over-bust, 32 inch waist, and 39 inch hip. The medium would fit better, but The cinching works and will allow for growth. If I order the one I ordered in the first place again, I will get a large for this reason. I may order some blue items so she can keep this and have things to wear with it, but I'm still peeved that they didn't get it right the first time and have no mechanism to give me a discount for ordering the correct one (which seems fair given that it won't be here in time for the party, nor will any blue items I order to go with the one they sent).
