I had a coat like this over 10 years ago...when I was skinny. I always loved it. After gaining some weight, I had to part with it. I have been looking at this coat for about 4 months. Given the mixed reviews, I wasn't sure about ordering it. I walk my dog each morning, and I need a long, warm coat. I finally took the plunge, and the coat came on 1/3/24. It fits me perfectly, it's warm, I love that it's lined inside, and being a person with long arms...I finally have a coat that has "long" sleeves!!!! Most coats I have, the sleeves are always too short. I won't need to worry about it with this one. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this coat again! A few notes: I am 5'9 and approximately 230 lbs; I normally wear a 2X shirt, coat, and jacket. Knowing me, I would have ordered this coat in my normal size, a 2X, and it would have been huge on me! After looking at the reviews and size chart, I ordered this coat in a "Plus Large," and it fits me perfectly with room to spare (not too big, it fits perfectly). As most reviewers mentioned, it runs large. I ordered mine in charcoal gray (it's a solid medium gray fabric with no "heather hairs" like others have mentioned. This coat is "berber" so it's not silky, slinky soft like a fleece coat would be, but it's also NOT stiff, and scratchy...like some people have mentioned. I am writing this review for those who have been looking at this coat for a while and were leery about ordering it. Had I read a review like mine a few months ago, I would have ordered it well before I did. Don't hesitate to buy this coat...you just need to ensure the sizing is right! I bought this coat because I wanted a warm coat that covered my legs with my wheelchair. I went up a size in because I wanted it loose. The top is very loose, almost too loose. The hips would probably be fine if worn standing up. I split it up the back seam almost to the waist and intend to add a wedge of cotton knit. The lower sleeves are very loose and I have large wrists and handsb. I took out two inches and am happy with them now. The cuffs are lined with fleece rather than a knit cuff. ... show more

I read the reviews before I purchased and still decided to buy despite the overall 2.7 rating (I usually on buy 4/5star rated items and I’ve never bought a coat on Amazon). The coat is actually pretty nice for the price. I see what people were saying about the lining being noisy (it makes the same noise puffer coats make when the material rubs together) but it’s really not that bad, it sounds like most coats with a similar lining. Of course the quality could be better, but it’s not trash. (Let’s keep in mind that it’s a $50 coat, a decent chunk of money but not expensive). It’s not rough or scratchy, and once it’s on, the noise diminishes greatly. The actual coat material isn’t super soft, but unless you’re used to cashmere 24/7, it’s also not rough either. I believe it fits the price paid. The coat is fairly light given the size but it’s not thin. It’s pretty warm and cozy and there’s some fleece in the pockets that’ll help keep your hands warm. It’s very long and oversized. I’m 5’8, about 155lbs. I’m not plus sized, I wear Small or 4/6 in dresses, jeans size 5, waist 27. I have long limbs which is why I bought this plus coat thinking (correctly) I could finally find a coat that didn’t leave several inches of my arms exposed. Overall I like the coat I just wish the hood was bigger, it covers your head but is a bit on the small side considering how oversized the rest of it is. A bigger hood would also look more fashionable. And I might exchange the medium for a small if I’m not too lazy. A few years ago I purchased this coat in a size 3x the color brown. I'm still wearing my coat till this day. I love this coat. So I decided to purchase a black one but they were all sold out of all the colors now they have these coats back in I purchased the black and size 3x the coat runs very small. I think that's so rude how they change the size of the coat. Now I want to order a bigger size they're sold out in the black. I'm a 3X 3032 my brown coat I bought a few years ago fits perfectly. But now they made these new coats they run small for 3x. So if you're going to buy this coat I suggest you size up well I'm going to size up but unfortunately they're out of the black so I'm returning is 3x. ... show more

It is an excellent and very warm coat. On a 27 degree F night I was outside running around chasing cats with only a thin nightgown underneath and wearing flip flops. I stayed warm. Very warm. The only issue is that I got a size larger than I should have. So I decided to keep this one to wear as an outside bathrobe (I love it so nuch) and get a size smaller to wear out and about. It is pretty well made (thus says a professional seamstress); it is a really good value, and is so nice and comfy. Best of all, the black has a bit of white in the fibers, so cat hair doesn't show up on it very much. Buy it. You'll love it as do I. ... show more
