I am very happy with these boots. I normally wear a size 9.5 wide but that size was not available. So, I did what I normally do when my size isn't available, I ordered a half size larger, size 10 medium width. They started a bit tight, but After a few days of wearing them they have loosened and feel great now.     • Good boot
Had these boots for almost two years now. I do a lot of walking and crawling for work and I finally managed to drag the toes out of these. The tread has disappeared, but I don't expect miracles with the hell they're put through. They were a little uncomfortable breaking them in as they were stiff and rubbed my calf, but a good boot sock and a few good days of manual labor and they have been fine ever since. If I don't find a pair of boots I like with a rubber toe cap, I'll be buying these again soon. ... show more

Paid for new but Was sent a used pair of boots with no time to exchange them due to upcoming job. Have ordered twice before but this is a first.

Got theses for my husband as a gift he likes them.the only problem is they start getting loose and as you walk your foot kind of slides in and out of them.

    • You Can Wear Them with Skinny Pants!
If you've looked at Amazon's photo of the brown version of these boots, there are three things you should know about them cosmetically: (1) The boots you'll receive are darker than the ones in the photo and (2) the leather texture is far more pronounced (it reminds me of the bison pattern on my leather messenger bag, which I love). Those were both nice surprises, but there's a third thing: (3) The tips are much smoother and slightly in lighter color than the rest of the boots, which gives them the look of lightly engineered stress. The real reason for the difference in shade and texture is probably the steel toes that are inserted at the exact points where the changes appear. The boots seem to fit comfortably, though you might have to get used to putting them on without a pull strap to hold onto. The arch support is as insufficient as it would be in a pair of Timberland Mt. Washingtons, but these boots have the advantage of being more durable and the ability to be re-soled. The leather smells like rubber to the point that you begin to doubt its authenticity, but the boots feel durable and the smell will vanish over time. There's also the feature that made me keep these boots (and without which I'd have sent my pair back to Amazon): The shafts and openings are narrow and thin enough to allow you to wear skinny pants over them. If I'd had to appear in public with my pant legs tucked in, the versatility of these boots would have been nil. I wouldn't have been able to wear them on the long trip home from the office and I already have a lot of nice dress boots for less punishing conditions. The shafts do seem to rub against the calves and lower thighs, so I can see that friction could be a problem for some people. However, I'm not thin and I wear a nine in normal size, yet this boot not only fits but seems roomy. If I experience problems walking in them for long periods of time due to friction or arch support, I'll revise this review to reflect that problem in the next few weeks.
