hello, we have many wolf garten tools in our arsenal. they are the best made and the quality lasts forever. our smaller original pruner is still sharp, cuts just about anything in the garden and feels very comfortable. so does this one with one exception...it is larger than the other one we purchased, but it still does all of the above and should be able to handle larger branches and limbs. the spring mechanism is outstanding...no more springy things flying all over the place when its usefulness is over. the lock is easy to use and keeps the blades together. overall, if we could give 10 stars, we would. quality wolf garten tools will last forever...a great product and fast delivery ... show more

    • Nice tool, but has an annoying problem
This tool cuts well but has one problem I find quite annoying. That is the cutting blades do not open when the catch is released, and when cutting the blades do not open freely for the next cut. I have to open the handles by hand, even after a bit of lubricant was applied to the pivot point. This problem might go away as the tool is used and the pivot point loosens up. An adjustment might be possible to the pivot point screw, but I don't have the necessary tool on hand to make the adjustment. ... show more

Great pruner. Easy to grip, very sharp, well designed and seems durable. Costs more than the cheaper ones that are made in China, but I had a few of those actually break apart in my hands. I'm going with German quality now.

This is my second pair of Wolf-Garten hand pruners. Still have the first pair after 10+ years of regular use. The thumb lock was starting to fail, locking on it's own, a nuisance, so I thought it was time for a new pair. Ordered these, arrived quickly, sharp, appear to be very durable so I was disappointed when the rubber bumper between the handles fell out and disappeared after a few hours of use.
