The product description states “Electronic eyepiece instructions; install the camera software (software name: HIVIEW)”. No software was included. In the single page of operating instructions that came with the microscope, there was no link to a site to download the software. Searching the internet for a site with the software I found that HIViEW is not an uncommon name for software products. One site that came up was hvscam.com (the word ‘scam’ in a website name is never a good sign) but the download was blocked as unsafe by Microsoft Edge. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. We finally got this to work correctly. There were ZERO issues, only NO instructions. My husband's dream was to be a biologist at one time, so he knows a lot about microscopes and was able to figure it out. The key is...there is a knob on the side that must be pulled out to use the 3rd monocular and connect to your laptop or projector. This is a really nice teaching microscope. The company really needs to include instructions if they want people to understand how to use it. Everything is basically easy to figure out except the connection to 3rd eye piece. The microscope itself is heavy duty metal. You receive everything you need including 25mm and 50mm eye pieces, blank sides, slides that already have samples, a carrying case, etc. It's does work very well. I highly recommend this microscope for teaching and personal use. ... show more
