Last time I jumped rope was probably 10 years ago, I decided to get back into it for exercise and bought this one. The rope itself is great, spins very smoothly thanks to the bearings. I would say it's a moderate weight (less than the thick, heavy weighted ropes some gyms have), if you try to jump VERY slowly it would probably get annoying but realistically even for a first timer it's not difficult once adjusted. The handles are comfortable to hold, the wrapping material is soft enough to feel nice on your palms but has good grip. I really like the design of the bearings and the axles holding the rope at a right angle to the handle - I think it's a very efficient design and feels smooth when jumping. It gets tangled a little if there is too much slack. I adjusted mine so that it barely touches the ground as I skip, and I jump as fast as I can handle so tension is not a problem and it pretty much never gets tangled while I jump. The instructions have you basically make it the distance from your feet to armpits, which I find way too long. Instead I measure by putting the rope behind my knees and holding the handles out in front of me with straightened arms, which is much shorter, and I shortened a few inches more through trial and error. I recommend starting with the too-long length that the instructions suggest, and adjusting down from there. As the manual says, it's a lot easier to shorten than to lengthen it. The handles each have two holes that the cable makes a U through, and friction holds it in place. So adjustment is very easy, and you don't have to cut the extra bit in case you want to be able to lengthen it later. However if you let the extra bit of cable wrap around the rest of the rope, it tangles a bit more. But if you jump fast enough to hear it whip, it still won't tangle. The first time I tried jumping in my dirt yard the plastic sheath immediately started getting scratched. I think you should definitely not use this on rough surfaces like concrete or pavement, it wouldn't last long. I had those jigsaw piece-style rubber mat tiles around so I jump on those (you can make do with 1x2' but 2x3' is roomier), better for my feet and no damage on the cable. After a few days I got good enough to spin it without ever touching the ground.

I love the email WOD nation sent me, asking me to leave a review. It was too funny! This jumprope is pretty cool. Came in a nice bag and had a cool sticker in it. It comes with two different size ropes, so you can choose to have either a thin one or one that's a little thicker. I personally like the thicker one. The handles are really cool, they're comfortable in your hands and also the colors of both the handles and ropes are so pretty. To cut the rope, you'll need wire cutters. I tried with scissorsand it didn't make even a deant. But, my only complaints are the the metal part that swings is kind of too loose in my opinion. I have had a hard time with it, don't know how to tighten it. And also the rope itself gets tangled up a bit and will make loops. Other than that, I really love this jumprope!

The way the rope connects to the handles allows you to make adjustments and test the rope before putting on the metal clip to lock it in place. The bearings are very smooth so it spins very well. Very satisfied especially at this price point.

This is the best jump rope to learn double unders. The two different cable sizes help you learn how to feel the tension in the rope that you need to be able to do double unders. I mainly used the heavier cable and once I became more consistent with my double unders I moved on to a higher quality jump rope. These are absolutely worth getting.

I spent a lot of time looking into which jump rope to purchase. Although I used to jump rope in the past, I would consider myself a novice. I have only used the cheaper $10 PVC ropes in the past and they worked quite well for my level of jumping at the time, but for a little more money the quality is exponentially better. With two ropes of different gauges, you can either use the thicker one for Crossfit training or the thinner one for working on double-unders. I don't do Crossfit myself, instead I lift traditionally as well as jog, swim, and bike but I wanted something else to improve on my cardio and move from straight LISS in conjunction with my HIIT workouts. This rope was the perfect addition. I'm also glad I chose the Attack Speed rope instead of the similarly priced Speed rope as the handles are fantastic and easy to grip. The bearings are smooth and glide with tremendous ease. Although I look forward to purchasing a more expensive rope in the future, this rope is a steal for the price and will be used for a long time to come.

While this jump rope is well made, spins well, and looks good, I have never had a jump rope get this kinky in a short amount of time, quite literally one wrong move and your rope is kinked until you boil it or use any other method, if kinky is your go to, this is your jump rope
